I impulse bought a Nikon m223 4-16 42. I have very little experience with precision shooting and this will be my nicest scope yet by a significant margin. I don't currently have a weapon to put this on and I am trying to decide what purpose I want this rifle to serve. Considering bolt action, or semi auto. I kind of want it to be something other than an ar15. Being new to scopes in general I have some questions. What is the optimal range of this scope? For what purpose would someone choose this scope? I was hoping for a light handy plinking scout style setup to shoot 25 to 100 yards. The eye relief is too short to do the scout mount I believe. I don't have much of an Interest in building up a big bulky 223 for long distance shooting but if that is an ideal role for this scope than thats the direction I will go. What sort of rifle would you set up with this scope, besides an ar15? Thanks a lot. |

Anyway, if they ship, the scope is a fantastic scope for distance shooting 500m +. I have the scope mounted on an AR and am going to rearrange some rifle scopes when and if my 2 ship and will replace a Zeiss on a .223 Weatherby Vanguard C and the Zeiss will go on a new Kimber. The 2nd on another AR. Make sure and download the Nikon App on your smartphone. Best of luck. |
