| How much does a magazine play into the feeding of a round? I recently moved to CA where I am reuquired to use a 10 round mag and a bullet button. Installed the bullet button and got the 10 round mag. Had issues with rounds loading on first range trip in CA. Would always eject the brass and only sometimes did it feed the new round from the mag. I started loading only 3 rounds at a time trying to just get a group but still had the same issue. Imagine my frustration when after every shot I had to get my stupid "tool" to use for the bullet button after just about every shot. Could it be that the spring is not broken in and is to tight against the bolt? Kind of lost as this rifle has not had this issue with the mags it came with. |
| When the feeding worked was with a larue mag on the larue predatobr. Had the normal mag release that comes on the rifle. Not home built on this bad larry. Then got a bullet button, 10 round magpul mag and had issues. Shooting M118 LR ammo. Factory not reloaded. |

There have been variations in the PMAGs to try to deal with the different datum points all over the map with even the production guns in the .308 world. Gen 1 PMAGs work for me just fine in my .260 Rem, even with Berger VLDs, not hybrids. You'll have to find another 10rd magazine that has dimensions like the LaRue mags. |

The come from the factory pretty damn tight and sometimes that causes some issues. Have you verified that the PST is all the way in the unsuppressed position? Where is the brass ejecting too? Direction/distance Have you verified the barrel is tight? Have you verified the gas tube is aligned correctly? What is your stock/buffer/spring combo? Factory or changed for Comifornia? |

I have 66 rounds through it.
I did not look to see how far the brass was ejecting only that I know ot was. The next round would half feed into the chamber. I have the larue carbine buffer and spring. I got a prs stock, sfmb muzzle break, and the larue spacer for a carbin buffer to work in the rifle buffer tube. |

You didn't happen to install the PRS stock at the same time you switched to the 10 rnd mag did you? |

Assuming you checked all the other items on the list, especially the gas tube alignment if you changed the break with the barrel on the rifle. |

No I put the prs and muzzle break on before ever firing it. I'm wondering if since the mag was new it was too tight. Just doesnt make sence being that I started only loading 3 rounds at a time. Reason I asked is I had an Armalite AR10 short stroking on me when I installed a PRS and it was the screw in the end of the stock that went into the buffer extension tube. It was too long and was keeping the buffer (and bolt) from traveling rearward far enough. Just something to look at... |
