Posting this here because of the depth of knowledge.

I have a fantasy of re-barreling this Ishapore 2A .308 into a .243 caliber.

It already has no collector value so no harm.

Where would I find a barrel or barrel maker and how much do you think is reasonable for a custom barrel?

Is it possible?

Perhaps a lighter weight bullet would work for you, OP ?

Anything is possible with enough money. The difficulty will be finding a good smith to do the work. Prices can vary wildly. You could get something like a green mountain blank for a little over $100. A match grade blank will be closer to 325-350.  Barrel work is in the range of another $450 give or take.

Again hard part is finding someone who will do it.

OP, that thing is still awesome.

I wonder how "The Load" of 13gr of Red Dot would do with the 110gr HPs?

Get that tuned, sling up, and do some stangskyting or the Mad Minute.
