| This is my first one. After seeing them at SHOT this year I wanted to try one out. Not because I need a super compact rifle but just because I like exploring options. If you want a folder this is an excellent option though. Locks up tight and I like that when folded the butt locks into the main body of the stock with a flush cup style connector so the butt doesn't flop around like some other folders I have seen. |

Well even though it was raining today I had to get out and put some rounds down range. Was driving me crazy having a new rifle in the safe and not have zeroed and shot it. LOL I got the scope zeroed quickly and then shot a little at 100. Groups were as I expected for the first 20 rounds through the barrel in the 1/2 MOA range. Didn't save any paper as it was all wet.
I didn't hang any paper farther than 100 but I had 4 pieces of steel hanging in the form of a 8" circle and square and a 4" circle and square at 400 yards. I put on my usual 168 AMAX factory load data, 2.4 mils, that I use with my other 20" practice .308 rifle and took a shot at the 8". I was surprised with a miss which looked high. Hmm? Held the correction low and hit. In the end the 24" barrel on this rifle needed .4 mil less elevation so 2 mils was hitting at 400 yards and hit it did. Group was a small cluster at the bottom of the 4" steel about 1.5". I am happy with that. Again no pics as I wasn't planning on walking out there in the rain LOL Only shot 40 rounds this range trip and just took her home and did a thorough bore cleaning as I like to do after the first range day with a new rifle. Will be getting out Saturday again and no rain is forecast so will get pics after that range trip hopefully. All in all the day was what i expected from a Moon built rifle. |

What bolt handle, bottom metal and trigger are you using? That's a Badger Ordnance bolt knob and the bottom metal/trigger guard is part of the Manners Mini Chassis system. Here's a couple pics of the Mini Chassis in another one of my stocks. You can see it's all a solid block of aluminum imbedded into the stock.
Here is a pic of it out of the stock from the Manners site http://mannersstocks.com/mcs-bdl-dbm-mini-chassis/
