Hey all. I picked up a Rem 700 ADL Varminter the other day. I've been shopping for a .308 bolt gun for a while and finally found this one and decided to go for it. I'm looking for a stock for it now, but don't want to get too crazy for a hobby gun. Here it is:

I am looking at Magpul's Hunter 700. Anyone tried one? Is it any good? The reason I'm leaning that way is because Magpul also has the magwell and trigger guard to convert the present rifle from a blind mag to a detachable AND its 69.95. H-S is closer to 250.00. |

So you're building 2 of the same gun?
Just kidding but you do have a dupe of this thread I really like the Magpul stock. Especially the grip angle compared to a traditional stock. If you don't mind the stock you have you can most likely still use the Magpul bottom metal (plastic) I inletted a hogue for one and it worked perfect. Lots of people have inletted all different stocks for it successfully |

And besides I got the rifle cheap so I can spend the extra on a nice stock. |

Here's my 700 ADL Varmint 308 dropped into a Magpul Hunter: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c381/avboiler11/4C014EAB-6129-44F4-9611-DAEE08B2C427_zpswliulsuo.jpg The rifle shoots the 168gr Amax very well...even with the XMP trigger which is just this side of garbage. Very nice, thanks for the pic. |
