I hate you guys. Fortunately all the mk11 suppressors I was able to find were OOS. Emailed one shop that didn't explicitly say they were OOS just in case!.. If it's in stock, I'll nab it. But this will be the last one guys. No More. I'm serious this time

Still have a enough loose ends to wrap up as it is!

Alright I may start making some moves on a Mk13 Mod 5. Can somebody PM me a phone # for Chris @ RBA? I'd like to ask him a few questions.

Any other builders worth recommending at this time?

ETA: Disregard. I was able to get a hold of him. Really enjoyed discussing the project.

RW Snyder Gunsmithing built my Mod 5 (and many other forum members' as well) - he's another reputable builder who knows his stuff and has a lot of experience building Mk13s.

I don't have personal experience with RBA, but they obviously have a good rep as well.

I'm curious if Remington will ever offer their XM2010 chassis again on the civilian market.

The fact that EuroOptic was able to get them to do a run of new M24s - makes me hold out hope...

Yeah RIS II for the SOPMOD Block II. Easy to mount! Rail ships with little tabs fastened to the inside that you then fasten to the M203 up front. Rear of the launcher indexes on the rail. Hardly a sniper rifle but you end up with a free floated Colt SOCOM barrel and an optic with a BDC out to 600 yards!

I still have this one laying around. Tempted to order a thoroughbred kit, but don't realistically see myself finishing it any time soon.

I don't really want to sell it, but shoot me an IM and maybe we can work out a trade. @Samson-Dogg

What's the little dingus sticking out of the bolt shroud? Don't know if I've ever seen that on a 700 before (not that I'm any kind of expert).

Is it used with the traditional safety or is it used by itself? Just did some Google-learnin'. Wow, what a cludge that thing is. Damn nanny-staters.

PGW is winding down their operations, so if you need one of their UNS rails for an M40A3/5 build, get it while you can! There might be an opportunity for a group buy from them in the future, but I wouldn't wait around to find out.

is that all it takes? I always assumed the entire firing pin assembly needed to be replaced

I think your right. It’s just a notch cut into it if memory serves right. Regardless, it’d be a safer bet to just replace the whole assembly. My old bdl had one but it was easier to just replace the whole thing vs just the shroud. Especially now since Remington is still coming back online with no spare parts the whole assembly should be easier to find used vs a shroud.

Yes, PVS-22's are still being sold, there's lots of places with them, but they're pricey at around $10k. Only a few people have successfully built XM3 clones, due to the rarity of the parts. The Colorado Micro Precision EFR is the most difficult part to find.

Thanks for the link! It's a pretty good clone, has all the right parts, minus a few markings in various areas. Hopefully it's an S prefix receiver. That Cerakote job is rough, it would look really nice refinished.

Mid-ish range on the 22.  If you want long range, go PVS-27, PVS-30, or PVS-24 LR.  I haven't seen the 22 available recently, but admittedly, I haven't been looking.  PVS-27s were available in quantity and relatively cheap a year and a half ago.  PVS-30s are still available but have gone up in price over the last couple years.

Here you go:

https://www.nightvisionguys.com/pvs22p-night-vision-weapon-sight-scope-gen-3-pinnacle-pvs-22-uns

If you're doing a clone that uses a PVS-22, then go for it. If not, there are better options. A few years back, dealers received surplus PVS-30's in various conditions (used to pretty much new old stock). These were priced around $4,000+, so they're a steal compared to $10,000+ PVS-22's! The price has increased, since they sold out long ago, but deals can still be found on ebay, gunbroker and the forums, every now and then.

50 scopes/mounts were sent to Barrett at the beginning of the ASR program, I assume this is probably one of those scopes. Definitely a unique opportunity to pick one up!
