| I have a Remington 700 with a Leupold Mark 2 mounted on an EGW 20 MOA base. Can't remember the rings. I had it all sighted in and loved it. Decided to have it threaded for my suppressor and just took it out for the first time the other day and couldn't get it sighted in. It's shooting way high and I can't adjust any lower. This may be a dumb question but what could've changed? |
| Assuming you removed base & rings for thread job, I'd look there first. Remove-inspect-replace. Maybe swap front ring for rear ring? I'm a little confused by the reference to Mark 2. That's a Leupold IMS mount (AR-platform). Did you mean Mark 4 scope? Finally, a 0-moa base would be a solution, if the other stuff doesn't work. |

Remove the rings from the base and inspect for any debris and double check base screws to insure they are tight. Was the receiver and bottom of the base cleaned when you installed it? Crud can add or subtract elevation. Dirt in the rail can do the same.
Simply rethreading and crowning your old barrel should not effect your POI that much. Who did the machining work? Did you check the interior of your silencer for baffle strikes? Barrel threading to accept a suppressor is not a job for just anyone to perform. There is very little tolerance allowable, the threads must run dead true to the bore or you'll shoot the interior of your silencer. If the machinist didn't take the time to achieve zero run-out as indicated by a range rod placed in the bore you are probably shooting the inside of the silencer and throwing the bullet off course. If none of these suggestions help you may have to dump the 20 MOA and buy a zero elevation scope base. |

I looked over my suppressor and there's no baffle strikes. I will check the scope and mount later today.
ETA: I used a cheap laser bore sight and the scope was off quite a bit, but it was showing the opposite of what I was seeing at the range. I will have to take it back out and see what it's doing. |
