KRG has recently announced the release of their 180 Alpha Chassis. This
is a Savage short action 4.4" side or bottom bolt release v-mount
aluminum spine chassis.  At $700 it seems to be a bargain, but they
haven't put up the image gallery yet. I provided a link showing an image.

I feel that KRG makes superior products, but as the 180 is new, there isn't
a large body of information available - yet.

I got a M40 B&C for Christmas. If you're looking for the best bang for your buck, I'd definitely recommend one.

The 10 FCP SR is not bottom bolt release.  The OP is probably concerned about the factory bottom metal.

I spoke with someone from bell and carlson. Because they have nothing that will work with a detachable magazine they are out. What a pain in the butt this is turning out.

There is no such thing as cheap quality for your gun.  Here's a
link to a major supplier of rifle stocks:

http://www.stockysstocks.com/servlet/StoreFront

I've purchased from them before, but only after I did my homework and got
assurances they had exactly what I wanted, in stock.  Ask them if they can come
up with something to suit your budget, otherwise, you like so many other
Savage owners, are SOL on the cheap route to stock happiness.

One other possible source is:
http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/
But you need to speak with them about your specifications.

Im looking for a drop in ready tactical stock for under $600. The big company's like bell and carlson and even hs presicion have nothing to replace the accu-stock. I never figured replacing something such as a stock would be such a pain in the butt.

XLR Industries is your friend!! The XLR Element, is offered in both the side bolt release, AND the bottom bolt release. Mine is the bottom bolt release, and works like a charm!! The open top chassis allows you to remove your action from your factory stock, and drop it straight into the chassis... tighten it down, and go SHOOT!! The stock is infinitely adjustable, and even fits me perfectly. I absolutely love mine!!
