Need help with specs on different scopes.
I am looking (like everyone else on this site) for a scope to put on a .308. I want to shoot from 50 to 1000yds, for both hunting and target. I would prefer to stay in the $500 range, but also think "buy once, cry once" applies here. $1000 might be feasible, and I doubt that $1500 or more is in budget. That being said, I need your input on the scopes I am looking at. Especially if they have parallax adjustment, and if they don't have adjustment then how bad is the parallax on them? Looking at Meopta 4-16x44 ZD, Meopta 1-4x22 ZD, Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32 EBR-1MOA, Burris Veracity 3-15x50 and 2-10x42, Leupold Mark 4 MR/T 1.5-5x20 and VX-3 series. The Meopta 4-16x44 says it has zero stop turrets and parallax adjustment. Not finding that on the others. Does anyone know if the others have parallax adjustment? If you could only pick from this long list, which would you pick for the application? |

The Vortex has both and would be my choice. Look under features.

I would seriously consider the SWFA SS line. They are great scopes and great values. I would consider them to be comparable to the Viper line at about 2/3 the cost.
SWFA 10X fixed 3-15 variable FFP ETA: Having said that, I bought a Viper PST 4-16X50 today and even though it's second focal plane, it's a very nice scope. I've also had great luck with Primary Arms scopes. Life is SO full of choices. |

You don't need parallax adjustment for magnification under 12x |
