I have a Sightron SII 3.5-10 x 42 bought about 7 or 8 years ago, in Weaver 4x4 rings on a LaRue riser which I use on my 16 inch heavy barreled middy. It normally resides in a padded tube and is installed when I feel the need for precision work or for load developement. I put it on the LaRue riser so that it will remain zeroed, and for most of its life it has. Well lately it started drifting. Always to the left, today 7 inches. Last time it drifted 16 inches. Rings are tight, 30 inch lbs on the cross screws, torque on riser locks not changed. I know that it isn't a real top shelf scope, but would you suspect the mounting system to be responsible for a 7 to 16 inch drift at 100 yds?

Not sure if it is the rings or mount. It could be a scope tracking problem. You should test it and it may help determine whether it's the scope or something else.
