| I have a chance to pick up a nearly new springfield NM in trade. I really don't know much about them except it's 308 (7.62). Tips? Advice? Anything I need. To be aware of? |

Any issues with the glass bedding As long as you don't disassemble the stock/action the bedding will last. You can get 1000-1500 rounds from one lubing of the action--so you don't have to take the action out of the stock very often. To keep it shooting at NM levels, you will skim bed the rifle every other year or so. |

Do the deal. So long as rifle is in good shape you should have no worries. I have a older model NM with the Douglas air gauged barrel and a SOCOM-16. Both are extremely accurate and very reliable.
As stated earlier a lot of lubrication is not needed. Mine bolts are lightly coated in CLP every other outing and work flawlessly. |
