I have had a RPR in 308 a while.  I got 308 cause its all I could find during the Creedmoor rush and I already had lots of 308 ammo.

The "I already have 308 ammo" argument has been moot cause I still don't shoot it much.  I woulda bought the 6.5 if it was in stock.

Now the LGS has a 10BA Stealth 6.5 in stock for $959.  It feels lighter though published stats say they weigh the same.  Stealth looks goofy, but the RPR is bulky and hard to maneuver.  My 308 RPR is sub MOA with Federal Match + others and MOA with Federal Nosler Ballistic tips and that's with me shaking the reticle by 1/4" while grouping.

How does the Stealth vs RPR argument go?

Does the Stealth use proprietary mags?

Tagged. I don't have anything to add other than I'm a huge Savage fan and feel like their guns are a great value.

I bought a Savage 10T from Cabelas in 308....3 weeks before they released the 6.5. Now I'm knee deep in this gun with reloading components, etc but can't help to think about getting a 6.5. I really like the Stealth.

Interested to see if anyone can chime in on a comparison

Here's a thread about the Savage that might help provide some info on it.
Stealth

I have a Stealth in 6.5CM.  Like it so far.
A buddy has a RPR in 6.5CM.  He likes it so far as well.
It's probably hard to go wrong with either one.

The stealth takes AICS mags.

Mine only has around 90rds through it but so far Hornady 140gr ELD-Match and 143gr ELD-X ammo have been sub MOA for me.

Check this thread out from savage forum. The OP has both.

I did the Savage 12 LRP. So far so good. It is heavy. Darkeagle has 10 round mags for the 12. I picked it over the 10 Stealth, other Savage 10's, or the RPR. I have seen all of the mentioned rifles shoot very well. The Tikka line was a consideration as  well.
If and  when it warms above 35°, I plan to shoot again. (bring on the flames for not shooting below 35°)
An indoor range today sounds good.

If you don't have a 6.5, go for the stealth.

Here are my thoughts.

I hate AR stocks on bolt guns.  That style works better on the RPR because its more of a tube gun, but I am not a fan on the stealth.

I wouldn't trust the stealth to run 100% if it is going to be run hard.

Accuracy wise I'm sure it's great.

What is it about the Stealth that makes you think it wouldn't run hard?

Why not just buy a barrel for your RPR in 6.5?  It's certainly cheaper than a whole new gun and it doesn't require anything special to swap it out

Savage actions have a tendency to misfeed when run hard, like in a PRS match.  It'd be fine for casual shooting though.

Because I've seen them fail time and time again being run hard.  Mostly ejection and extraction, some trigger and feeding issues.  Shooting off a bench of just banging steel they will do fine.  Get them on the clock and push them there is a good chance it wont run 100%.

The stealths are trued and blue printed so don't think they are like regular savage actions

Nobody has been able to prove that as anything other than marketing and with the floating bolt head even if it was the case it is pretty meaningless.  None of that would have anything to do with ejection and extraction.

Have talked to a few folks who have the savage stealths. Asked them to fast load an entire clip to see if any binding happens like it does on regular savage rifles. All said no binding at all. Smooth as silk. One shot through a clip as fast as he could without any issues at all.
