I think that Remington makes an SPS Tactical AAC. Can anyone think of anything else? Maybe even with a wood stock?

Savage

They make a few different versions. If you have the cash, the Accutrigger and Accustock are worth it.

Also Tikka T3 tactical on the expensive end.

Mossberg makes one that I'm going to assume is a cheap pile of crap.

mossberg thunder ranch . nice rifle for the money uses ar15 mags has an adjustable trigger 2 sling studs in the front one in the back 18 inch barrel . Its a damn good shooting pile of junk for those who assume things .

Ruger American ranch makes for a decent inexpensive rig.

Much nicer than I expected... I find the 18.5" barrel and 1:9 twist odd choices for a bolt gun. The fluted barrel, and fact that it takes AR mags is awesome.

The only issue I see here are that there are some "long" .223 loadings that I'd like to try (using a 75 gr Hornady A-Max), but haven't because they don't fit in an AR mag and I don't have a bolt .223 yet.

But it is a nice looking rifle.

ETA:  Yeah, I know, I can feed them one at a time into my AR.  Not the point I was trying to make.  I'd like to have a bolt gun where I can have 5 or so rounds loaded.

For that purpose, I'd go with the Ruger American Predator.

Yeah, I need to get out and fondle some rifles.  I'm kind of a Remington guy when it comes to bolt guns, but I'm down to one of those and feel the need to give someone else a try.  All in the interest of "research" of course.  What I really need to do is figure out the longest length on any load I might try and confirm that it fits in the box/magazine.  That .223 75gr A-Max loading has an COL of 2.39".  Not sure if there's anything longer.

Thanks for the heads up on the Ruger.

I dont think the 75 grain amax will work in the box magazine on the mvp . If that is your intent I would definatly go with a remington 700 . I did load some barnes tsx 70 grain and they were ok but the barnes 62 grain are much more accurate. I have a box of hornady 75 grain bthp super performance I intend to try just to see how they shoot .

they are starting to put 1/7 twist barrels on the new models which would of made me happy but if I leave the can off it is a nice light weight walking around rifle for varmints and predators . I have read where some people are modding ruger magazines and being able to load longer bullets so yeah that would also be something to check out for sure .
