guys it's taken me forever to save my money for a LWRC REPR 20" rifle, now I need a scope to learn shooting distance. I have a 2k budget, I've been looking at the Burris XTR2, NightForce, Weaver Tactical, Vortex Razor gen1, Steiner scopes, I'm mind numb with all the reviews, reading up on said scopes. can you guys PLEASE help with making an informed purchase? I'm not stuck a certain brand, I just need bang for the buck, and willing take any advice you experienced have. thank you

Those are all good to great companies.  Here are a few questions to ask yourself.  What magnification are you looking at......3-9, 3-18, 5-25????  Next do you have a recticle preference?  Also MIL or MRAD?  When you say long distance, what are you talking?  800, 900, 1,000+ yds???

LWRC says the rifles capabilities are 800meters, i'm still learning about MRAD, MILs/MOA, so any suggestions are appreciated. i would like the most bang for the buck, i was looking hard at the Steiner 5x25 and a Nightforce and Burris in the same magnification. i've been shooting on a Weaver tactical shop mil dot 2.5x12x42mm for a while, sadly that's my experience and that's why i wanted to upgrade and learn longer distance shooting. i really wanted you guys input, i enjoy reading and leaning from others that have experience. any and all suggestions are welcome, thanks

With a 20" barrel you could get out to 1,000M.  I have a 16" spiral REPR.  Out of all you mentioned, I would go either a Steiner or Vortex Razor GEN I.  I'm personally saving to get the GEN II 4.5-27 Razor.  Vortex & Steiner are both great companies with great customer service IMHO.

That is a nice scope.  I think you couldn't go wrong with either.  Both have good reviews, CS, warranties.  At this point, I would look at reviews for both and make a decision from there.  At this point to me, it's really a matter of performance.  Check out Mile High Shooting.  Those guys do tons of long distance and would be able to help you out a lot.  I've never dealt with them but have heard nothing but great comments about them, very helpful, pleasant to deal with, very knowledgable.

Check out the LOOONG SH thread on the Steiners - they seem to have some QC issues.  Not OK in my book for the $$.

You might also want to consider the Bushnell DMR w/G2 reticle, 3.5-21x, or the ERS 3.5-21x.
Other than that, a Vortex gen 1 Razor, or the new Gen II for $$$$...or one of the newer NF FFP models.

I have heard NF can give you a lot of headaches when it comes to warranties.  I've heard Vortex is a no question, no bull warranty.

I sent in my Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32 FFP for repair and they sent me a brand new one. I had it in hand two weeks later. I was using it on my REPR. After a few hundred rounds the illumination stopped working, and the reticle started spinning with the zoom ring when pushing off from 2.5

I bought a NF NXS hoping that I won't have the same problem again on my 308, but I'm looking at another Vortex for a White Oak build after seeing how their customer service is.

As I posted in the other thread from OP, the NXS 3.5-15x50 in 1.375" Night Force rings clears the LWRCi BUIS
