My word recognition at 95db is around 70%, so it is tough to get call signs when the signal is low. I'm hoping my new hearing aids will help.

There was a lot of noise on my end as well, I had to use headphones. Just a short end fed antenna on my end and low to ground

I usually hear CO pretty well, tough tonight for sure
I have an efhw 40m, and the DX commander for 40-6m |

The dx commander is a multiband 40-6m vertical with a bubch of radials, and the efhw is 66' of wire that goes from 4' and slopes up to about 30'.
I have a 71' random wire that is for 80m. |

I’ve used the gutter here before to tune up, but got this end fed that is short, and low. Need a longer one and higher up. The other night it was a lot quieter.

It was pretty noisy tonight. Have you considered getting a 10m pole to hold up the wire if you don't have a tree?
