http://www.pbase.com/david_3/image/150382384.original.jpg It's a (slow) work in progress. Picked up some wood today, to build a stand for the power supply. It's going under the desk. Still planning to move the radio to the middle hole. Maybe the Elecraft panadapter in the left hole, and the amp/tuner in the right (they are on the dream sheet). Computer monitor will go on the top shelf where the laptop is, now. And of course, I need a world map for the wall. Why are you using an external keyer? THe K3 has the easiest programming in the world. |

Several times each day, I will sit down and practice sending for just a few minutes (1-5). Then I get up and go back to whatever I was doing. The keyer is battery powered, and is "always on", so all I have to do is sit down and start sending. Easy. Makes sense. Actually a good idea. |

the usual ham shack pic threads to me always seem to end up full of scanned polaroids of their shack in the 80's

Wonder if we will ever get lucky enough to have a pic thread get tacked... A picture thread pops up every now and then and theres some really cool stuff that people share, but they all get lost

How come we don't have a ham shack pic thread? Well, we do now. It's time to post photos of your ham shacks and radio rooms for all of arfcom to see. Here's mine as of a couple of days ago. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/249049_10151610561731928_1863496902_n.jpg What kind of radios are on the left? |

Those are a couple of Uncle Sam's cast-off surplus receivers. The top one is a Watkins Johnson 8718A, while the bottom one is an old EAC produced "Collins" R-390a. They've both been recently gone through and brought up to spec, so they work like they should. I've got a Racal 6970/GM receiver that will take the top spot in the rack, but it's getting sent off for the same refurb treatment as the others before it does. I'll take a family portrait of them all when it gets back. |
