i am a total bow noob, but i am looking to get started bowhunting. i admit, this bow was kind of an impulse buy. i paid 35 dollars for it. can anyone tell me anything about it? did i get a decent deal? is it worth learning to hunt with it? or did i buy junk?

it is a pearson magum, with a 70 pound draw. its 44 inches in length.

heres the pics from the craigslist ad, sorry they are so small.

any info about this bow would be appreciated.

The best advice I can give is to take it to a bow shop or outdoor store like Gander Mtn, Cabellas or Bass Pro if it's near you and ask for help.  They can weigh it out and see if you're really pulling 70lbs or if not what the draw weight really is.  They can measure you for the proper draw length and arrow set up and help you take a few shots under supervision and work out the basics with you.

$35  works, I'm still shooting a 20 yr old Bear similar to what you just bought.  Practice and it'll work just fine.
