Anyone have experience with these?
I'm really interested in ordering the OT Core chassis and attaching a xlr stock. Seems like a pain in the ass to find a dealer, other than from their Canadian store |
|

BTT..
Buckeye tactical and Drakes associates and Eurooptics are the only ones i am finding try finding a stock for a tikka SA |
|

Do not order through drake associates. The fucktards screwed my order up. I ended up getting mine through the Canada after the ceo of cadex contacted me after my complaint. I have the same chassis you want. It's friggin awesome. You won't regret it. There is a thread on 10t 6.5 creedmoor here you can see mine. Doesn't have my new vortex but will give you a idea. I love this chassis. I have a magpul prs on mine but thinking of putting a Luther butt stock on it.

Placed my order through Drake. Didn't hear anything for 3 weeks. When I called him, sounded like a BS blow off but said it will ship on time (6 weeks). I decided to contact cadex. Found out he didn't place the order. Was told he has done this before. I sent drake a pretty nasty email and canceled my order. Got a call from either the CEO of next one down asking if I would reconsider and they would deal with drake. I passed but they called me back next day to make a me a sweet deal to keep my order. I kept the order. The magpul works great but makes it look like a boat ore. I needed a 20 MOA rail so I could dial to 1000 yards with the scope I had. 0 MOA rail that comes with the rifle works if you have a scope with plenty if range to dial. I did have to trim the rail for the chassis to fit. Dremel to the rescue.

View Quote well so far i have an email in to Drake.. they are the only US vendor that shows the Tikka SA model on their site. what was the price difference after the Canadian price conversion? the same as what you would have paid in US? thank you for the info.. i am really diggin this stock |

Go through cadex. They will ship it through one of there distributors. Drake is one of them. Will pm you a direct contact to cadex. They should have US cost on there site.

For those that own these: What do you think of the how the tube mounts to the chassis portion? It looks to me like the two brackets on the sides hold it on and I'm not sure how solid that is. Is there any flex at that joint? What are the brackets made of?
I think the Cadex chassis is the best looking chassis made and am considering one to replace my X-ray. |
|

The two pieces that hold the tube is solid. Zero slop. Torqued to spec and your gtg. I have no regrets getting mine.
Just a FYI, the savage ashberry will be released soon (supposed to anyways). |

so tell me about the compatible magazines.. i assume out of the box it is initially AIC only?
they say sleeves are available for other magazines does it include any others? Will the LR/SR GEN M3 Pmags work without additional sleeves? one thing is for sure. they are not very good at documentation |

i have to say i FULLY regret purchasing this stock.
1. i got the field tactical from EuroOptics after trying to com with two other dealers recommended by Cadex. i have YET to hear from either of them on a quote. EuroOptics replied in less than two hours. that should have been my first warning sign this was going to be a disaster 2. if you have a Tikka t3x CTR. you have now been forewarned... you must remove the epoxied / glued down 0MOA rail in order to use this chasis. i called my local gunsmith and he didn't want to have anything to do with this.. so i took to google and luckily found that someone had used a clothing iron for 30 minutes directly to the rail to heat it up. and then was able to pry the rail off. this worked. 3. half the the screws stripped using the correct torx bits and correct torque settings i now see why it came with so many extra screws 4. my AIC mags DO NOT FIT!! these mags are from a McMillian A5 stock with a badger mag system.. they are too wide?! that means at least another 35 bucks for at least a mag. there is more but my head hurts so in order of my favorite. McMillian a5 KRG xray AIC AT Cadex |

Before I ordered my cadex chassis, I researched to find others who put one on a savage to ask questions. When I had the right info, then I ordered. As far as your rail being glued, thats on tikka, not cadex. Cadex just started not long ago selling chassis's to commercial market. Most of there business is military. Anytime your messing with the rail screws, these little bastards strip easy. You use locktite and screw in just enough pressure to seat the screw. I messed one up on my savage. chalk it up to a learning experience and drive on.

View Quote A lot of people were running into issues with the factory rail on their Savage 10TRs (nothing to do with Cadex), so apparently this happens with more than just a few manufacturers. Some guys were lucky (like me) where the rail screws came out easily, others had to use heat guns to loosen up the loctite or whatever they use at the factory. |
|
|
I had to shave off a little of the rail to make it fit on my 10T. Practiced with the original so when my 20 MOA rail came in, I knew how much to trim off. Cadex chassis's are solid and would recommend them to anyone. Just have to do your homework first to see what needs to be done to make it fit.

gents im going to pass this by you before i call eurooptics:
i have now bought the magazine: midway purchase and it still doesn't fix in the cadex stock. what am i doing wrong? EDIT NM this stock will only work with the Tikka T3 mags My T3x 260 mag will not work.... how much extra was the different magazine sleeves? they are not listed on the website anywhere that i have found 2nd EDIT after my range trip |

so i acquired some 308 Tikka extended magazines( the ONLY magazines that will work with this rifle) and this rifle will fire one round, the back of magazine drops down and won't feed another round.
i've emailed Cadex to see if there is a good solution to this issue $1380 dollars for this chassis? |

Kind of off topic but what type of rubber over mould pistol grip do they use? I was handling a Cadex chassis at the range and that is the AR pistol grip I want to use if I ever put one on a precision rifle build.
Oh and the owner said he loved the chassis. You can probably get them for 25% off the Canadian proce with the low dollar. |

Did you get a reply back? When I bought mine for my savage 10T, was told AICS mags only. Magpul wasn't on the list yest but tried it anyways. Works. I didn't buy any sleeves either. Going to try a savage mag just to see if it works. What model of chassis is that?

I have not heard back from them, it's the tikka model listed on the eurooptics site
This model the the extended tikka mags only model |

What caliber is your rifle? Was looking over your chassis on cadex web site. From what I read, you can use your mags but not sure. I see there is options for different magazines but of course it costs more. Weird your having mag issues.

View Quote an update. the Senior sales manager has been in touch with me. later this evening i am sending over the serial number and some pictures. he is going out today to get a T3x rifle in their hands to see if that might be the issue. I am using a Tikka t3x CTR. 260 Remington originally i would have paid more to be able to use a sleeve for AIC mags. now that I have spent 90 dollars in mags i don't want to go that route. as far as i am concerned anyone that buys this chassis will have this same issue. so i hopefully i can get them the information they need to modify the lower mag well. then i am guessing send me a replacement. not really sure what will happen but they are looking into it for me great pictures. i really like the looks of this rifle. i really went the long route building mine up the way i did... it is still cheaper than buying one prebuilt from Cadex |

Just looked at cadex web site and your chassis. Your caliber is not listed from what I can tell. Take a look and see if you find something different.

There are multiple posts on Snipershide about Magpul AICS magazines not working with Tikka rifles unless modified so that may the issue. Factory Accuracy International or Accurate Mag AICS magazines seem to function fine though.

here is my video to them Link
When you fire a round, the back of the magazine falls down like shown, you can't feed another round it either double feeds or scraps up your brass |

so to update everyone on this. We think we have found the issue but first
1. Eurooptics has been on top of this since I first reported the issue. they will certainly be getting more of my business when I purchase equipment 2. Cadex and their staff have been helpful and patient working with myself and EuroOptics. I've been upset with them thinking it was their chassis, but after what I learned today it probably is NOT the case it appears the NEW t3x CTR out of the box WILL NOT work with the Cadex chassis that uses the Tikka extended magazines, if you spent 2k on the AIC version you should be fine.. the regular t3 with the Extended magazines has a silver metal piece that holds the magazine into the magwell. this so far explains why my magazine is so loose.... Europtics is going to see if they can order the part that attaches to the trigger housing and we will go from there |
