I've got a white 2011 F-150, and I need to have the roof repainted soon. I found some pics of a white truck with a black roof and I really like it. So far, everyone I've asked said to do it black. I'm not 100% sold on it yet, so I figured I'd get some opinions.

Here's my truck as it sits right now.

Here's the truck I've found with a black roof. I wouldn't do the tailgate or hood. Just the roof.

Thoughts?

Go for it if you want it to look like a black/white cop truck they never made.

So, you want to paint the part of the car that gets exposed to the sun the most and gets the hottest, a color that absorbes the most energy and retains the most heat?  That makes sense.

It's not like I'm making it any worse than a black truck would be to begin with.....

Every other vehicle I've ever owned has been black. I could care less about heat retention. It's really not that much hotter than any other car.

After thinking it over, I'm going to have the roof painted white regardless. If I do a black roof, it will be a vinyl graphic that will at least give me the option to remove it if I change my mind.

Looks good either way, but I like the black.

Is that paint or is it spray on liner on the truck you referenced?   Also curious as to why your 2011 truck needs paint?  I voted to paint it.  I like that look.

Wheel/tire and suspension spec please.

I say just Harley truck headlights and take the running boards apart and wrap with 3M dinoc in satin black.

Hell Bent Steel 2" Leveling kit.
20" Remington Trophy Wheels
305/55/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers.

HD/Raptor headlights are next on my list, but it will be a bit before I can afford them. I already have the HD/Raptor tails.

For the running boards, I'm probably going to change them to Nfabs or a similar style.

Line X on the rocker panels and bumpers.

The previous owner drilled a hole in the roof to mount a CB antenna. I'm having the hole welded up and then the roof repainted because I'm worried about future water leaks and/or rust.

1) Black is wayyy to hot so I wouldnt even consider it, but...........................

2) If you go black, Id would do the hood as well, I dont think itll look right with just the roof done.

Black. It would tie in nicely with the rest of your truck.

I see a white roof and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

Thanks for the input, everyone.

I may do the hood decal first and then see how I feel about the roof, if it's not too much black at that point.

Plasti-dip it.  That way if you don't like it you can tear it off.

Agree, that pulls the whole look together.

I tried Plasti-dip on the emblems and didn't really like it. The texture is weird and it doesn't look "finished" to me.

I'm going to go with black vinyl for the hood and roof, so it looks cleaner but is still removable.
