That's 1" PVC, and I'm trying to connect the 3/4" PEX pipe to it (to supply water to the other end of the PEX).  I'd like to stay away from the push-fit fittings (I don't think they work with schedule 40 PVC anyway).  I might even need to tap into that 1" PVC underground.  What would be the proper way to do this?

I'm trying to figure out a way to neatly get water to the faucets that are installed on this counter.  It's a double sink, with a faucet at each sink:





About the only idea I can come up with is to fasten the PEX to the PVC drain lines (that are yet to be installed) with zip ties or some such, but that might look rather messy.  Plus, I've been reading that PEX shouldn't even be exposed to indirect sunlight, and that critters like to chew on it in the walls of houses.  This is installed outdoors, so there will be indirect sunlight AND plenty of critters to chew on it if they'd like.  Anyone have any thoughts on it?  Thanks.

Something else I thought about was to trim the PEX close to the concrete, get a fitting on it and transition to PVC.  That would minimize sunlight and critter exposure of the PEX, and also provide some rigid and easy to repair pipe.
