Below is my unopened 1975 Jack Daniel’s. My wife’s uncle passed and I found it under his kitchen sink.

Picked up a couple bottles as I had finished off my Johnny Walker Black and Bulleit Bourbon.   I've always been a fan of Elijah Criag and for 25 bucks its a great deal.  And rather than get another bottle of JW Black I grabbed my first love in the world of scotch.  The 12 year Glenlivet.

I think I'm going to grab a couple bottles a week and see where it goes.  When I quit drinking beer I didn't think I could get the same excitement out of whisk(e)y but I sure can.

Recently got back from a family trip to MO and I snagged a few bottles.

Knob Creek SiB Select store pick from Arena liquors, Toms Town distillery Barreled Gin, and Toms Town distillery Machine 7 whiskey.

Also found a bottle of Castle and Key SB locally today

150 is pretty much msrp for those, but I don’t blame you.  Ec18 is not very good and ecbp kicks the shit out of it for 1/2 as much.

Well my current home bar area is not where I would prefer it to be long term but we still enjoy it a lot. I have my bulk alcohol storage downstairs in a different location. This bar only holds our favorites and supplies for making mixed drinks. Yes we love Cognac so let the hate flow.

Wife picked up a bottle of Woodford Double Oak at Walgreens for $35.99 yesterday. Not sure if it was maybe mis-marked, as the tag on the shelf just said “Woodford Reserve”.

Finally snagged a Takara red. Supposedly these are a bit older (~8 year) as opposed to the ~6 year in the US.

Need to find a gold and green next

Not going to be the most popular but I decided to break down and buy a bottle of Chartreuse VEP. It's great, truly exceptional.

Yeah I agree. I bought a bottle to do a gin review on it and after trying it, I went back and bought 6 more. Got a nice stash of it now.

Had an awesome score today, was so excited about seeing eagle rare on the shelf I completely overlook the blantons. Luckily a friend called and told me about it, scored the last bottle. It’s my first time seeing it on the shelf.

Been a while since I did dome serious "hunting" and the shelves were getting low. I've given up looking for allocateds. There's enough quality unallocated bourbon to more than make up for them. I'll still take the odd allocated I stumble across but it's a lot less stressful this way. I was off most of last week ending with my 41st HS reunion in Missouri. These are the results of my searches. Not pictured are four bottles of ER I got last night in a local sale.

I've become fairly jaded over the last couple years.

Almost never see any good Bourbon deals anymore and in general prices and availability of some of my old favorites sucks.

Just about quit hitting liquor stores like I used to and have curtailed my drinking and have been settling for lower priced offerings.

Tonight I had to drive to a far part of town to pick up a prescription for my MIL and as a reward to my self I stopped a relatively new liquor store that I had not been to before.

Lucked up on a EH Taylor small batch and a Weller special reserve for decent prices.

Now 5 years ago I would have turned my nose up at these prices but its the best deals that I have seen in a while.

My assortment of Ka Va Lan samplers. The full size bottle I bought here in the states, but the rest my wife picked up on her last trip to Taiwan this year. Hopefully with Taiwan opening up in October of this year to foreign visitors, I'll be able to go again(I usually went 2-3 times a year, pre-covid) and make a trip to the distillery in Yilan. Otherwise, Ka Va Lan has several factory stores in the major cities that carry nearly the entire product line, but there are a few exclusives that are only available at the distillery store.

The "Omar" whisky is from a Moon Cake gift set, where you are supposed to drip the whisky onto a moon cake before you eat them. Its made by TTL, which is the big Taiwan-state owned confectionery, alcohol and tobacco firm. They most notably make Kinmen Kaoliang baijiu, the sorghum-based alcohol, but also Michiu, the rice cooking wine you can find at any Asian grocery store.

I organized my liquor cabinet.  I’d say that 80% of the liquor I have is in that cabinet.

Cleaned it up a bit. Combined a few bottles. Pulled near empty ones to the front.  Killed that bottle of port Charlotte.

Yes. I am a peat hound.

This was going to be it until I heard my dad was driving back to Michigan instead of flying back with us. So, I went back out the last day before I flew out, and filled up another box. But, no pictures until they get delivered next week.
