Cost wise I can see it being worth the money for that upgrade.  Once I get the
rebuild done on the last 3s+ to 4s - I will order the upgrade of the other printers along with
the accelerometer & GPIO board.

Technically 4 of the 6 parts are finished on my gang print, with the last 2 parts getting finished.
I think this is the first big gang print that seems to have turned out ok.  Most of the time I only
print 2 similar sized items at a time.

Do you ever print fixtures for parts instead of machining soft jaws?

Not who you were asking, but I just did some to hold golf putters I made for a guy. He had them cerakoted then realized he fucked the weight up. I didn't want to mar them, so I printed form fit jaws. Worked great.

Just got this from harbor freight. Works well for the printer. Does move just a little bit. I'm going to put a jack under it to stop the swaying.

Another 8 parts on a gang print for the Prusa MK IVS upgrade.
Now to try an even larger gang print of 10 items.  The color
of the printer is going to be odd.  Each plate I am swapping
colors of the material.

The big issue / or learning curve will be if I have to print out
any of the new parts in PC blend.  No enclosure might provide
a bit more fun than I want.

If I have to go that route - for a hand full of prints I might get
a cheap photo tent

Thanks for the info - I have two spools in transit to me now.

I am printing another platter of MK IVS parts from the extruder folder.  Not all the parts, but ones
that should work with PETG. I will have to wait for the PC blend material to make sure the right parts are printed
up in the correct materials.

[added]
I am running my last plate of parts for the MKivS running right now.  At this point it will be a waiting
game to get the upgrade kit for the rebuild effort.

[even more added]

I have pretty much the full set printed for the MK 4S - other than a few parts that I believe will
be either included in the upgrade kit - or need  to be printed in the PC Blend.

I will say this, gang printing a bunch of different parts on the MK IV is a dream over my older MK III/IIIS+.

Crocs.  I've always wanted to try them, but never was willing to buy them.   I had a spool of rainbow TPU sitting around from a project for my daughter.  Seems a fitting color for them.  30 hours later.  They are comfy.

Can you replace the casters with ones that lock? There's a wide variety in quality of casters.

I made some boxes on wheels out of leftover 5/8" plywood to go under my reloading bench for storing ammo/brass/bullets and the casters are just from Home Depot. The Vyper stool I have with really nice casters is night/day different than the stool I got at HF.

You might be able to put adjustable feet there instead of wheels or throw some pavers in the bottom.

Very nice job, Im burning a fixture to hold onto the main body for milling. Im making the slot for the trigger cam a little bigger so i can use a small ball nose. But I think i may lose the ability to put the gun on safe.

Im using just prehard 4140 and if it works i will either heat treat it or run it through my Nitrider.

if you havent looked at a spin-index, that is the secret sauce.

on mine the slots for the trigger are 1/8th rather than 1/10th as on the original hoffman.  by doing this there is a little more flexibility in the position of the trigger (pockets do vary from builder to builder) - and the remaining side of the safety lever doesnt have to be thinned.  its also a lot easier to mill with a 1/8 mill

Anyone ever do the cost analysis of ABS vs PETG or PLA+ when determining how many widgets you can get out of a roll?

Since ABS is a lighter filament I've found I can get 22 widgets out of a roll vs the 16 out of PETG or PLA+.

Filament is sold as 1KG rolls and since ABS is lighter there's more volume on the roll.

Been trying to transition some of my items over to ABS when I can to handle heat better. I really like how easy ABS is able to print when you have a proper printer for it.

With PETG I had too many rejects due to various issues with it. Some rolls I'd get perfect prints then the next roll would never print right with the same GCode. Maybe that's why Bambu is discontinuing their Basic PETG. Not exactly onboard with their new HF PETG as you lose mechanical properties.

Doing some light bar & work light mounts for the JD 3038e.  These clamp on/around the ROP.   The work light mounts include mounts for forward & rearward LED lamps.  When installed there is a 3mm gap between parts.  Was printing on both Max3 & AD5M machines, ASA printed @270c w/bed @ 95c & chamber @ 55c.  M5 cap head screws are used for assembly, 5mm nuts are placed in cutouts.

I do HVAC controls so I'm often in mechanical rooms working where there's no good place to place your laptop.

The OmniShelf magnetically attaches to air handlers, chillers, panels, etc to give you a work station.

I found myself last week using it a fair amount and was really missing not having a place for my mouse. If your mouse doesn't like reflective surfaces it's designed to take a 6"X8" mouse pad.

So, I came up with a mouse pad for it and a cup/tool holder as well.

Printed vertical to maximize strength when a downward force is applied to it. I recommend a brim to keep it from warping, this one had a slight warp it but should function fine.

a few sand sharks for work - found them on printables. - mostly to show the new bamboo p1s
owner they need to tweak the printer settings for non-standard filiment.

I printed a few extra textured - knurled-containers for holding sd cards
and other small odds and ends.  This make surprisingly good pill holders.

To wrap it up; I printed yet another basket weaved pencil holder.
