It is a SAW, they call it a Minimi IIRC. Furniture might be different.

The Brits use Minimis and Gimpys (slang for their L7 GPMG) just like we do; their Minimi is our SAW and their GImpy is our 240 Gulf.
FN L7 GPMG 
FN M240B with soft-pack and ELCAN sight 
British soldier with a Para Minimi, notice the SUSAT sight, typical of the SA-80 rifle. 
American sodlier with M249 Para SAW with 100-round soft pack and ELCAN scope. Also look at the "combat patch" on the soldier's shoulder, yup; 2nd Marine Division patch (eventhough Marines don;t wear unit patches)
