Hi Guys,

I have a Walker Treeing Coon Hound that needs a home. He's a year old and has papers. Seems to have a good nose and focus but he's never been trained to hunt. We agreed to try and keep him for a friend, but he hunts our cats which my wife won't hear of, other than that; he gets along with our other dog, isn't agressive and doesn't seem to be a problem dog at all. He stays in a crate at night with no messes and has never made a mess in the house. He likes being around people, is pretty well mannered, doesn't bark/howl too much and stays around the house pretty good. I think he'd make a good family dog too. It really makes me sad to let him go, I'd like to find him a good home.

Give me a shout if you're interested.

Thanks
Heatnbeat

PS: On the cats; we've gotten him to not chase them in the house, but he roams the house sniffing them out. Outside cats are another thing, I don't think he'll kill them, but he sure will tree them.

You could always get rid of the wife and the cats. Just putting it out there...

Thats a 'interesting' name for a dog breed. I laughed at first, but i know it must mean something else, surely it must....

Excuse my ignorance, im a foreigner.

For hunting Raccoons.

I had a similar issue trying to figure out what a pig-dog was.  At first, I thought -"Those crazy Aussies are mixing dogs and pigs now?"

Coon is a commonly-used short word for raccoon, but also used as a racial slur, so (sensible) people avoid using it.

I first heard the term pig-dog when I watched Ronnie Johns' skit "Harden the fuck up, Australia." I almost pissed myself laughing at that. I had to look up pig-dog, and they look pretty scary, but so does my dog, and she's as gentle as a lamb.

Get rid of the wife & cats.

Keep the hound.

You'll thank me later.

Nope- they're bred for hunting wild pigs. Just as a 'coon-hound' is for hunting coons.
This is not a pig-dog:

This is:

I had a Treeing Walker Coon Hound up until a few months ago.

He loved little kids!
Always let me know when someone was at the door.
Friendly towards other dogs.

I sure do miss him.

Still have three dogs in the house, otherwise I'd take this one from you.
