I have been trying to find one myself. Are Thermos products still made in USA? They have some nice ones on their website.

ETA I can't find one. Even  the Bubba Keg ones are made in China. Oh well. At least I have a good old. heavy ass, US made Stanley thermos bottle.

You'll find them right next to the US made Unicorns, Cameros, Chargers, and Dodge Rams.

I really don't think that any SSteel mugs are made in the USA anymore. Go plastic and get a Tervis tumbler with a handle and travel lid.

Not  what you're asking about specifically, but Tervis tumblers are made in florida, double walled, can buy handles and spill-proof tops with a good lifetime warranty. we love ours.

Thermos appears to be made in China.

Yep, mine was my grandfather's. It's probably at least 45 years old. He passed in 1976 and had it a while before that.

Plastic makes coffee taste bad.

I used em for years with shit coffee and it didn't matter.

Once I started making good stuff, I noticed how badly the plastic skunks it.

Now I have stainless mugs.

Problem is, they still have plastic caps and so I have to go around all topless and shit.

I don't give a damn if it's Chinese, Vietmanese, or Portugese, someone PLEASE make me a goddamn stainless cap!

I thought of that when I saw this thread but I wasn't going to post it because I don't think that mug is all it's cracked up to be.

$190, it only holds 24oz, the carry handle is extra and I don't think Aluminum is going to keep your beverage a desired temp for long.

I got an awesome insulated, spill-proof travel mug (I think it was Thermos brand) that was made in Japan, and they make good stuff.  Check out http://www.baldmountaincoffee.com, that's where I got mine.

ETA: I don't see the one I ordered there now, I think it may be out of production.  Try some other specialty coffee websites, though.

Fuck yeah.  I was thinking to myself yesterday "self, I need to get a naglene bottle or something, so I can has water, since I'm almost always dehydrated."

Then I saw this thread, and that item. I ordered.

(also put in the comments:  "draw an AK on the box".  I'll follow up if they do it!)

I bought a very similar one.  I hate it.  The mouth is way too big, it is impossible to drink out of without spilling.  Espically if you are moving.

Maybe I am some kind of retard though.  Your results may vary.......

This one was made by some guy named Mike in Charlotte, N.C.  It has a Stainless Steel insulated center and is encased in Ambrosia Maple

No other mug on the planet keeps coffee warm like a Contigo. I don't care where it's made. Can't beat being able to turn the thing upside down w/o it leaking.

Yeah , but what does it hold ? 10 ounces ?
Even the big green china Stanley thermos' are STILL  $35-$45 . . . wtf ?? I dont care if it's got a lifetime warranty , I'm sick of sending money to fucking commies.

I was looking for another thermos and ended up settling for a chi-com one .

My Big Greenie was manufactured in TN.   It's been around awhile, at least 25 years, and has seen many a flightline.
