I'm trying to school a few anti-gun idiots (I know, don't waste your time, etc etc.) and I want to present a comparison of some "assault weapons" vs ban compliant weapons.
I know I've seen some before (though I can't find on google), some guns that are technically "assault weapons" but are dressed up in wood furniture and look like "fudd guns".
Then you have some of your ban compliant guns that are dressed up in black furniture and can actually look quite nice and military style (what a BS term by the way).
Of course, they will say the black gun is the "assault weapon" and then I will educate them.
Pics anyone?
Sounds to me like all you'll do is give them even more guns to hate on.
They're not going to find any new-found love for the evil assault rifle no matter what you compare it to.
I suggest you take a slightly different approach. Instead of focusing on what defines an assault rifle, focus on solutions to our nation's current problems. Because within that discussion, anyone else who's honestly looking for solutions as well will come to realize that banning guns is not a viable approach (even if they don't respect the 2A).
We should be talking about mental health care, school security, and the underlying social issues which contribute to the violence in our society. Addressing such problems with gun control isn't even a band-aid solution. Band-aids at least help for a little while.
