But the thing about the Power Rangers that I recall was how totally racist they were, at least originally. Pink Ranger, hot white girl. Yellow Ranger, hot asian girl. Red Ranger, native American. This thread is funny to me: My soon (Now 22) was a total Power Ranger junkie as a little grom. Last week, I was driving right past our old place where he was a little guy, and there was a minivan in front of me. Kids in the backseat going ape over something.
And then I see it- Power Rangers on a video console in the van! It took me back down memory lane, and I was laughing. Man, I loved my son being little and playing with him. I texted Kevin ; 'Power Rangers, FTW!!' and he was like "What are you talking about?" When I told him, he laughed....... "When I was a kid, I LOVED me some power rangers! Pretty cool, dad." |
