The folding stock looks ok, forget the modernized one. Overall it still looks better with the wood stock.

Please tell me those are ATIs and not the real deal... THe Schmeisser stock is OK, but the one with the G36 stock and rail? The one that came up with that needs to be taken to the back of the shed.

They're repro's.

Article is about 4 years old.

I remember seeing pics of one in the white with an MP-40 style stock and of course that's all the AKM folder is in function anyway so that's legit.

The G-36 one would be cool if it wasn't blue and the stock functioned. It's no different than throwing tactical crap at an M1A.

First one looks fine, it looks like it could have been a real model used.  Whoever created the 2nd one needs to be punched in the face, not only is it ruining the history it doesn't even look good. Tapco'd sks's look better.

The underfolder looks alright, but how are those AK stocks on the cheek when shooting? They don't look very comfortable. I'd imagine the more out of place G36 style stock is more comfortable to shoot, but as mentioned, isn't a very fitting stock aesthetics wise.

There is a special place in hell reserved for people who deface art. There are only so many STG44s left in the world and every time they screw it up, it's another piece of history lost. A piece of history that we badly need reminders of...

If these are meant to represent the further evolution of the Stg44, I think it's a mistake to presume that the Germans would have gone with the Mp40 style underfolder. It's a poor design, both spindly and with poor ergonomics, and they certainly wouldn't have adopted a folder that couldn't be deployed or stowed with a magazine installed.

They had examples of better designs that would work on the StG44.  Perhaps an over-folder, similar to the one used on a PPS-43.  Or, maybe they would have come up with a good side-folder, something like the M1A1 carbine only sturdier.

It's not like HK sliding stocks from 20 years later are the benchmark of ergonomics

Maybe, but compared to those rickety underfolders it's a masterpiece.

my understanding was it was a photoshop to represent the stg-44 if it were in the different ak variants

Yeah, the muzzle device on the sbr with the underfolder looks extra shoppy. Look like AK accessories to me.
