K so I know generally most arfcomers carry pistolas in their vehicles just curious as to what long guns/carbines some of you carry?
I carry 5.7 pistol with ps90 broken down in a covert case |

Depends on where I am going: either a Marlin 1894 44 mag or my Bushmaster ORC.
|
|
If I were to keep a long gun in my truck, it would be an SKS or a lever action .30-30 like a Marlin 336. Maybe an AK assuming I could get one for cheap.

I thought about getting a draco for when I am down in TX. But I never got around to it, and now they aren't as easy to find.

I have a 5.7 and PS90 and they are a great combo, just get the SS198LF.
I am not a fan of 9mm, kel-tec or glock but I'm currently looking for a good deal on a used g19 to go with my sub2000. The sub2000 with fun sticks and the ability to interchange all mags with a g19 is a combo that makes sense for a cheap "ready bag" This cheaper setup will be in my work truck and can be given to a friend if we are getting out of a bad situation. |

It's a late model F250 extended cab. Never seen a storage bucket that clean though. It was made for that spot. I want to know who makes it and where the pads can be found too. |

I keep a Glock 17 with Federal HST in custom made kydex holster mounted to the side of my center console next to the drivers seat. Hard to get my CCW out, especially being a lefty, when sitting in the truck. Glock 17 is easily accessible and easily concealed with a towel.
Have a FN police shotgun (Winchester 1300) with buck and slugs behind the back seat. Live in Alaska and the most likely use would be dispatching a large animal. The 5.56 seems a bit under powered which is why I don't carry an AR. |

Nice setups but damn that is a lot of money to lose if your ride gets broken into or stolen.
I keep an old .30-30 in my truck. I paid 250.00 for it....won't break the bank. I'd like to sporterize a Mosin....even cheaper. Won't cry if it gets stolen. |

Sub2000 with a couple of happy sticks. Cheap, compact, and effective enough to fight my way out of most situations I might encounter.
Plus I can feed it with my extra G19 mags and vice versa. |

I stopped leaving a gun in my truck where it's more likely to be stolen. Whatever is on my hip is my "truck gun," usually a G19 or SW Shield.

View Quote Good link. Thanks, seems pretty cheap. ETA: I have a franken-AR in my jeep that is filthy as hell. I felt bad about it at first, but now I kinda want to see what it can take. The only care it gets is the dust cover is closed. Been rained on, sat in the sun, dust is terrible around here. |

When my car is home, it's either right out my front window or locked in my shop for the night. Here at work, It's 20ft from me through a giant window. |

Yugo SKS.
Cheap(ish), always goes "bang" when the trigger is pulled, don't care if it gets a little scratched up (character). Also, if my vehicle is stolen, it's the one gun that I am the least attached to. |

Quoted: Use caution, some states are unfriendly to this, VA for one... View Quote The law is kind of fuzzy here in Maine about long guns and vehicles . I do know that you can not have a loaded rifle in or on your vehicle .....cant even lay up against your truck if you're target shooting with a rifle . I made a fold down shooting bench that was hinged on my gang box in the bed of my truck ....worked great for driving out into the woods and target shooting in pits and logged areas .....however , I was reminded by a friend that while cool and practical , it was very illegal I choose AR and AK pistols for truck guns . They are compact , with detachable mags and still throw rifle caliber lead ...however , being pistols , I can keep them loaded in my truck , or on my person , without fear of breaking laws because I have my CCW . |
