Le Cafe - Oldelaf

Good little short animation.

I prefer french roasted beans freshly-ground and steeped in a french press on my days off. I'll take swill at work. I take it black, of course.

I ordered the 20#  XL sampler (4-5# bags) of South American coffee and a pound of Mexican single origin a few weeks ago from sweet Maria's.  I have really been enjoying the South American coffees over the Africans lately. Guatemalan Antigua Finca Retana light roasted to the first crack has been a life changing smooth cup. Just a simple damn good cup of coffee.

I love coffee...having said that, I can drink a pot, go to bed and sleep and not drink another one for a month.  It really has no effect on me.  Maybe that's why I like it so much.

I also order from Sweet Maria's. I was a customer back when they were located in Columbus, OH.

I drink mostly Guatemalan with the occasional Costa Rican.

I've been working my way through the best coffee shops in Philadelphia list. It's been awesome. I had Gimme coffee while in upstate NY and they have some great places too. I need to get a good setup for the house.

If you want to watch a cool show check out "dangerous grounds." Dude goes around the world searching for coffee beans for his businesses, often in hostile environments. Very interesting.

I'm addicted to coffee like I'm addicted to oxygen.

I just finished a beautiful rib-eye and downed about 20 ounces of hand ground,French-pressed French Roast. It had the chocolatey-looking foam on top when poured...yeeessssss.

I've had several Facebook conversations with Todd about roasting. Cool dude, and I would love to visit La Colombe and have a cup.

Hated Coffee for 21 years. Refused to touch the stuff. "Caffeine should be cold, black, and in a can," I said.

Then I started Grad school.

I love coffee. My favorite is from Silver bridge coffee in Ohio. While I usually don't like flavored coffee, their "Jamaican Me Crazy" stuff is awesome.

Get rid of your pot and get a Keurig.  Perfect cup everytime, and a different brand/flavor/roast everytime, if you wish.

I don't know how I ever made it before I got my Keurig.

You didn't read the whole post.
Keurigs don't make a perfect cup.
If I want a perfect cup, I'll use my french press.
Keurig is my lazy coffee (Yes I have one)

I've been drinking their Guatemalan  huehuetenango finca rosa.  It's my "go to" coffee.  I'm also a fan of one of the workshop espresso blends, #29 I think.

Sorry guys.  Anything pre ground, in a can, from the grocery store is shit.    It's also more expensive than roasting your own.

I long for my days off again to freshly grind and steep some quality beans. Spend my winter mornings reading North American history while sipping that hot, black nectar.

I think any automatic system has a sour, acidic taste to it.

I'm partial to the Roasterie local to KC, dark line especially.

Have never roasted green beans, will have to research it. Above Roasterie uses air-roasting.

I can tell you dark-roasted beans are a whole lot more sticky and difficult to clean up after in grinder!
