The last time I posted pictures, it brought out the Arfcom butthurt as I took apart an original Argentine 1909 to use.

This time, no one has to be pissed at me.  Someone else did the dirty work.

Three Argies, FN Carbine and a GEW.  All but the GEW are matching number rifles.

BTW - One of these Argies is an "A" series.

This is the last Mauser I built.  WWII mil action.

Wouldn't do it myself but that's some well done work, I'll give it what it deserves. Wanna build me a .458?

Nice.

Screw the haters, a properly sporterized Mauser is tits.

Sporterized Mausers are great.

Bubba doing it himself is just wrong.

Doing it right is expensive.

Hand.

Plenty of errors up close, but I am getting better.

There are so many already for dirt cheap that it doesn't make much sense to "sporterize" any more unless you just want a project.

Nice stock on that German one.

I heard a rumor that J&R Engineering bought FE Brownell.  I wonder if there is any truth to that, I would like to buy a few more handles.  I also noticed that Gunline cutters were back in stock at Brownell's so I guess I ought to stock up, I like their single line cutters.

FE Brownell handles are great.  If you can get them to deliver....   I have three.   Wish I had more.

Need to call some friends and see if your rumor has any legs.

Over runs? if so do a double or triple outline. it will hide a lot of them.

Thank you for the kind words.

I have a .458 on the back burner.   Getting the proper weight in a reasonable length is going to require a custom profile barrel.  I'll get around to it one of these days.

Doing only borderless.  It forces me to pay attention!

Pointing up all the diamonds is where I need the most improvement.

I used to communicate with the youngest Johann Fanzoj and have lunch with him each year when he was in Las Vegas for the Antique Arms show.   Lost touch with him when he decided gunmaking was not his thing.

I recognized the Ed LaPour.  His site is great for inspiration.   I bought a barreled action online, just because it had one of his safeties.

I misspoke, it's WE Brownell.  J&R is more or less closed down.

FE, WE.
220-221

The last I heard, the same Asian guy still owned the company.   I think I might still have an order pending with them.   They seem to ship when the mood hits them.   Often months later.

I will burn in hell for the Mausers I have torn apart.

Many turned into fine rifles for their owners. It's the low dollar hack jobs that hurt.

Threw most of this BRNO Zkk-600 away to build my 404 Jeffery's. Still in the white.

Picked the blank for strength not figure.
