10mm ammo is easy to find here. I laugh when people treat it like it's some myth.

We shoot a handful of times a year. I love my 10mm round and I love that I have 15 of them in a magazine. FMJ or XTP's |

I don't have any experience with either , but I'll say 10mm because the gun that fires it doesn't have to be a huge behemoth. If I were expecting to go up against a bear or something, I'd lean toward a .500 S&W revolver (or a semi-auto rifle) rather than a .50 AE.

I've never fired a .50 AE, so I would choose 10 mm. Is there game that you think the .50 AE would be able to take that would be outside the 10mm's scope. I know 10mm is pretty easy to find in my area, I've never looked for .50AE so I don't know if it is or isn't. I don't own either. I considered adding a 10mm, because it was still readily available during the ammo shortage |

Most loads are no better than .40 S&W, unless you reload or buy Double Taps. I'd like to own one someday if I ever get the funds and means to. I'd first have to start reloading. |

It is what, $6-8 more than .40 FMJ? 10mm is not something someone on a low budget can afford at all. The 10mm practice ammo you speak of while costing more, ins normally faster and tends to be more accurate. Where 10mm shines is handloading, and doing things that would make a .40 explode. It's just a flat out more capable design, with a much wider performance envelope. The best part is... if you don't want to pay as much most 10mm guns are a simple barrel and spring change away from shooting .40SW. |

I've shot both. 10mm is my "go to" caliber.
The .50 AE is a fun round to shoot. Stout, "thumpy* recoil that practically begs for the heavier platform of the Desert Eagle. I have huge hands and the DE is one of the few handguns out there that fits like it was designed for my paws. Too effing big for anything other than open carry. I can't imagine do "speed drills" with anywhere near the accuracy or splits the way I can with my 10mm though... |
