Urgent care refused to set my wifes toe so she wants me too.  She doesn't want to wait until Monday to try and get an appointment with an ortho.

Is it literally just as easy as pull and push it against the next toe then buddy tape?

Tape it to the next toe over, that's what they did in the ER for me when I broke mine.

If you do make sure the toe is assessed often for adequate perfusion.  Have you looked Into those shoes that splint toes?

I'd wait until a Doc can set it. Believe it or not, there are a number of things that could worsen the situation. Shutting off the blood flow causing the toe to necropsy not being the least.

Let a doc do it unless you want a wonkie toe from now on.

I've broken my right one 3 or 4 times.

ER for first time, tape and Advil for the subsequent ones.

ETA:  DO NOT break it on the way out the door for the Atlanta airport.  Then fly to NYC, immediately walk around bar hopping for hours on end, then head to Long Island with no sleep for a wedding.

Just give her a shot of whiskey and Dremel it off.

Oh, and yeah, the pics aren't loading.

See ortho like the other medical person said.
It is clearly displaced/angulated.

Dan't make things worse.

But, her toe.

From a guy who has broken both, pull it sort of straight and tape it to the neighbor.

Let's see what she's made of, pics of her in heels

I snapped my pinky toe to where it was pretty much pointing at my ankle. I sat down and took a deep breath and wrenched it back straight. I then taped it to the next toe. It was pretty swollen and sore for awhile but it is 100% good to go now.

Pull it, tape it, back to urgent care for an xray reshoot to confirm good setting?

Perhaps its because the fracture is lengthwise on that bone they want to have the ortho look at it?. Just setting it might risk the top portion slipping and sliding downwards. My son broke a finger which looked somewhat close to that fracture. He had to have it pinned.

See someone comfortable doing it the beginning of the week.

It's simple oblique fracture from what i can see but there could be small bone fragments that could be near crippling for her if not done right in average women's torture chamber shoes. I'd make sure the doc follows up Monday.  The need for removal of any taping you do today by the doc on Monday will only cause double the pain.

4 toes are prettier than 6 thats for sure. looks bad enough to let the doc mess with it.
