I want a 1 piece mount. Quick disconnect would be nice, but not necessary.

Its for a Nikon P-223 3x32

I have not seen a one piece mount that will work, yet.

I bought an Aero Precesion after confirming it would work here.

But it won't work and I have to return it.

Why doesn't the Larue mount work? Different ring diameter or something?

I have a P-223 3-9x40 and I use a Burris AR-PEPR mount which I'm real happy with.

Edit: Also, which P-223 scope do you have? There are several different ones in that series.

The Aeroprecison extended scope mount is what I would go with, it isn't QD but it's very nice and right under 3oz. Retails for 90$

If you absolutely need too taste that tacticool kool-aid then get a QD scope mount.

American defense- 189$

Larue- 220$

Bobro- Iv'e never looked, i'm afraid my wallet would run away...

No its a P-223 ETA: I see what your saying now.

This is it.

Would prefer 1 piece mount. Quick detach would be nice.

Larue is to long.

I second Aeroprecison for a sturdy light weight mount if you are not dead set on QD, which I think is way over rated.

this it seems odd at first - it slides into the rail from the rear but tightens up very very tight and is almost auto squared by the design.

in alot of way this is the easiest mount I have ever used.in fact if you don't need QD I would  say this over larue.

Your options are kind of limited with the 1" scope tubes IMO. Go with the Nikon 1 or 2 piece mounts, or a PEPR.

I like the PEPR very much. I also like the Aero Precision Extended mount as well.

You can't beat the price on the M-223 mount.

The M-223 actually looks too long for that scope, just like the Larue.

It might be. I am leaning more towards the Aero Precision extended mount at the moment.

Gotta sell my Larue first.

I've got 2 Colt LT6720R's that I configured identically <2 is 1, 1 is none > with Nikon M-223 2-8x32 BDC 600 scopes and Nikon M-223XR mounts, zero complaints, the mounts are solid and fit the P and M series scopes perfectly...

Edit:  I grabbed the 6720's out of the safe and got you a couple of pictures...

Second edit:  Now that I see what Nikon scope you're using you'll most likely need to use the P-223 mount:  http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/Nikon-Products/Mounts-and-Mounting-Rings/P-Series-Mount.html

The XR version and early version of the original do not have this issue:

OTOH, it is supposed to provide an additional 20MOA offset over the standard version, but it looks just like my original non-XR mount.

I think the one piece 223 mounts are to long. Pretty sure I am going with Aero.

Anyone have the Aero extended mount and can take a measurement for me please?

The above measurement on the M-223 mount is 4.5 inches, if that helps.

I got the nikon mount free with mine.  I know very little about optics and mounts but since it was factory matched i thought it was the best way to go.

Nikon's P-Series AR Mount's are great for those compact optic's where a 1 piece mount just won't do the trick. I have had great luck with these 2 piece mounts, well built, lots of flexibility with mounting, great price and a tight lock-up.

That's a 3x power correct? Do you feel you need more power or does this one work pretty well?

Link Posted: 10/31/2014 1:45:47 AM EDT
[#42]
It works great for my uses. MY 50 plus year old eye's want as much magnification as they can get. That being said, this 3X scope is now on my son's Carbine Competition AR, he doesn't seem to have much of an issue with 6 inch steel plates at 200 yards where I like 8X for myself. This compact 3X scope has very good light gathering and field of view, plus, bottom line, it is a great price!
Just so you know, I  do freelance PR work for Nikon, no sales at all and I wouldn't tell you this is a nice bright compact scope if I didn't believe it.
If you do decide to pick one up, make sure you check out some of AR15's site sponsor's, I'm sure they can help you out with the scope and P-Series Mount.
This scope has literally had over 2500 rounds under it with not one hiccup while used at Nikon Event's.

I have had a lot of guy's looking for a 1 piece mount for Nikon's P-223 3X scope but I have yet to run across one that will fit the compact size of this scope.
QD's are great, I just like to have a 1 piece mount when using them.

There are a lot of ways to make Nikon's P-Series AR mount work for you, here's aother option.
