I'm really thinking about it. Most of my "personal protection" pickup gun use is for those man eating gophers and the occasional coyote. a PS90 would work well for that if they shoot worth a shit. I've finger fucked one but I have never shot one.

Same here. I'd probably be better served by an SBR AR. Then again, I quit trying to find a reason for the guns I own a long time ago.

Ruger No. 1 in 45-70
Sharps in 45-70

I've owned both, and they are both tons of fun to shoot, but the Sharps is more fun than the Ruger. I shot a 6" square 3/8ths thick steel plate @ 50yds with the No. 1, and it sent the plate, hangar and all end-over-end about 10ft (it was on a fairly light frame). The plate was so badly dented by the bullet that I had to cut it off and weld on a new one.

My next .45-70 will be an 1873 cavalry carbine, just for the hell of it.

I have heard that they are usually terribly sloppy and unreliable.
If I could get one that worked, I would go for an old one I guess.

I have both.  The PS90 is a fun gun to shoot, though I am always afraid of ammo getting scarce for that.  A few years back I stocked up on 1k rounds, so Im good for awhile.  The five seven pistol I have not even shot yet and I've had it for about 4-5 years now.  I'll have to take care of that this summer I guess.

As for other impractical guns I want to own:

Barret  M82A1

bunch of others also, but these are the ones that came to mind first.
