A local importer had a RHD, Diesel Dub cab 87 4x4 that looked like a 4 door clone of my current 87 4x4. Same color, shell, winch bumper etc. They wanted $19k for it and I was really tempted. Until I found out it couldn't be titled in California. Legal federally but not in my state. Most JDM imports are a no go for us.

I would love a Hilux but would not pay his asking price.
I would however purchase this. 
Interior was all MOLLE and assuming armored. The guy filling up the tank was not happy about me taking pictures. not sure exactly what they do to them here in columbus? But they appear frequently |

Pretty sweet truck. I do get the appeal of hiluxes.
Since they can all be imported at this point though (that year), I'd rather hunt my own down somewhere and import it. If that truck were cheaper, say $20k local or $15k there, I'd buy it today (and get on a plane if necessary). $30k is steep, but someone will probably pay it or come close. |
