Cheers brother.  This isn't a "downed humvee" thread but if it was, I'd post pics.

I know where you're coming from.

KC!!!

Wow- talk about an unexpected memory jog!

I worked with her in Afghanistan... VERY cool person, extremely humble.  She wasn't comfortable talking about that experience.  She was very professional and an expert at cutting through bullshit to get the job done.  I have pictures somewhere of a group of us drinking beers in Norway.

An EP-3E from my old squadron. From the 2001 Hainan Island incident. She was brought home and rebuilt, and was the nicest flying bird we had when I was a pilot in VQ-1 from 2004-2007

Senior Chief Mellos, one of the aircrew that was on that when it went down, was in VP-10 before he got there, what a crazy guy. We figured the Chinese probably let them all go after they got sick of his shenanigans.

They let them go after they had stripped every piece of useable intel value off that aircraft.

No. Without going into the class realm, they got very little off of the aircraft. The destruct was mostly complete. What they did get, was not high value, and is now long since obsolete. The crew did a great job under their procedural guidance of the time. Some procedures were later revised after careful consideration
