Thank you OP! Great book that helps illuminate the history is Glenn Garvin's "Everybody Had His Own Gringo".

Spent a little over a month down there for Hurricane Mitch relief, and Pres. Clinton visit in 1999. And then some time in El Salvador while waiting on Airlift back to the states...C-130 crew dropped us off and we met up with our other team and spent about a week waiting around until we could all get back home.

That's probably the first time I've ever seen the winter trigger guard used on an M16. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Meh, no threat there, I only saw three ARs in the whole bunch. According to arf, AKs are apparently incapable of sufficient accuracy to kill people.

Did you hotlink the word "part" in your post, or is this new ARFCOM advertising?

Had a co-worker who spent some time down there during that era. Pretty much all he said about it was that it was disgusting and sad what humans would do to each other; something about killing people in combat was one thing but that they liked to torture each other. MS13 and groups like that pretty much bear that statement out.

AR-18 with the 40 round mag. It was piston before piston was cool. I also see plenty of G3's, Fal's, M-14's a Mini 14 (I bet that guy got killed) VZ52, Galils. I saw pics of the home defense forces with German K98's in other photos. |

I also had the inverted reticle 3x scope mount. I never did find a Costa Mesa. I did but the price was too high at the time, ($995,00) What a dumbass I was too pass that up. |

Saw one AK with a Galil grip, lots of AK'S, FALS, M-14'S, G3'S and some M16'S.

No one spotted Eden "Commander Zero" Pastora in the pic with the 180?
I think this is a mix of late 70s FSLN pics and mid 1980s Contra pics. |

I was born there in 72. Mom got us out in 84. The shit I saw as a young boy was pretty bad.
Some of the stories I can tell I am not sure people would believe. I hate communism with every fiber of my body. |

I remember lots of pics from the Central American stuff growing up.
Learned Spanish thinking I would get shipped somewhere down there in the late 80's. |

When I went to AIT at Ft Benning in 1983 we didn't have magazine pouches. the Drill Sergeants told us that Benning had just finished training a shit load of El Salvadoran forces and gave them all of the ammo pouches because they were going to need them..............
Cool pics! |

Nothing compares to what the Sandinista did/are doing to the country. |

She is desperately trying to sell her house and move here before the Sandinistas steal her house again. Thanks for the cool pics OP. |
