I think I'm going to blow up one of my guns because I like one mag. So I have a shit ton of PMAGs loaded with XM193 for the normal bang away with the ARs type stuff. Up next I have 6 lancer mags loaded with good 5.56 ammo for HD use. Lastly I have a bunch of HK mags that I have dedicated to .300BLK, except for one. All of my HK mags are painted except for the one that I use in an M16A4 clone. The .300 mags stay out in the barn but the A4 clone is the primary HD gun and sits around with the one HK mag in it in the house. I love the way the black HK mag looks in the gun and it works great, but I worry that the stars will align in the wrong way and I'm going to put the wrong ammo in the wrong gun.

I bought some of those sand colored pmags so that I wouldn't make that mistake.

ETA: only use them with 300 blk.

I always put tape on magazines with different 556 loads. as in red for 193 black for OTMs grey for 40 grain varmint load etc. color coded Tape is the simple easy way to be sure of what you have.

You have a bunch of Lancer mags loaded for HD but keep one HK mag with the gun because you like the way it looks. Whatever, it's your choice.

But if it is really worrying you, why not allocate some pmags for 300BLK and then paint or tape them and then you can use the Lancer or HK for HD.

FPNI. I just use sand colored pmags for my 300blk exclusively. there are enough black ones out there still that i can keep stocking up.

I use Pmags and Gi for 5.56

Lancers for 300 blk, also bought 10 poly HK mags, those go to blk also.

Open mag bag, easy to know what goes in what gun.

I have 4 lancer mags, I keep them loaded with M855's, and about a dozen black pmags with XM193, Then I have 5 pmags loaded with 300blk with bands on them.

Now I have 2 identical 10.5 inch uppers (DSG with seekins rail), 1 in 300 and 1 in 556 both sporting PA micro dots, that's more confusing.

I've got a 10.5" 5.56 upper and a 10.5" BLK upper. Painted the BLK upper and corresponding mags so I don't end up with a KaBoom.

Thanks, that's cheaper than anyplace else I've seen.

I guess this might give a good reason to match furniture and mags, i.e. Blackout guns have black furniture and 5.56 have FDE.
