im surrounded by gun shops/pawn shops that sell guns.
seriously i dont have to go but a 1/2 mile from my house in either direction till i hit one of MANY gun shops....say what you want about FL....but we got some guns up in this mofo.

I've never been to Florida, so take this with a grain of salt.
I think "Gunshine State" is a term thought up by the Brady group and other gun banners. Sunshine State is a well known alternate name for Florida. They called it gunshine state to prevent concealed carry from being legalized. Wasn't this the original "You can't do that, there will be blood in the streets" state? |

No constitutional carry, but FL was way ahead of the curve on concealed carry. Reciprocity for resident and non-resident permits are very good (with resident picking up a few more states over non). The FL CWP is so popular that the Florida Dept. of Agriculture (that manages the CWP program) can't keep up with demand and has instituted new submission methods to streamline the process. Combine the above with a well established Castle Doctrine, and being NFA friendly and you get a very gun friendly state in most of the key areas. Additionally there is legislation in motion for the next session for both Open Carry and Campus Carry (for CWP holders). Hopefully those pass and we move closer to the constitutional carry motherland. |

Card was issued after answering a few questions and having a new pic taken, was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Card issued same day. |
