We can't even wash them before working on them because our wash bay filtration system will get fucked up just from one machine. If the trash is dry, we'll try to knock out as much as we can outside and take air wands to blow out the loose stuff. You will itch like a mofo, even moreso when you're sweaty. That being said, Cat has standards that each shop must conform to so you'll usually have access to all the tools you'd ever need. If it's a newer construction building they're required to have a/c to keep a positive pressure in the building to keep out dirt. Heavy equipment pay is pretty damn good too.

All of them do, or should. There's very few hoses that Cat stocks pre-made. They're almost all built to order.

Hydraulic hose. Ours can make a/c lines as well.

We almost never order hoses either. We either build them ourselves if we're near the shop or get hoses made by a hydraulic shop if we're in the field.

Our parts department only tracks the fittings and bulk hose.

There's a part number for a hose assembly as well as the individual parts. When an order is placed for it, the system spits out a build sheet that gives the cut length, fittings, what angle the fittings are clocked to (if applicable), and the seals for the fittings. We can also do custom if needed. The crimper is computer-controlled. You enter the p/n of the fitting and it will crimp, then you measure it with a set of calipers that feed into the computer and it will adjust the crimp if needed. Then the computer prints a label that is applied to the hose w/ the part number, build date, and our company's website.

I feel like a caveman compared to that. Lol

I just checked the website for the dealer I was talking about and the tech position that was open is not listed anymore. They only need a gate guard and rental yard attendant.

That's more than we've got. We have no gate except to get to the back of the shop but it's unlocked during business hours. Our yardman is also one of our techs. I did the job for a while, it's very annoying. I'll be working on something just to get pulled off to either load or unload a piece of equipment, get a rental machine ready, or ship an attachment to another store. It made it hard to get a machine done in a reasonable amount of time. If that's his sole responsibility, it would be an easy job. He also maintains our washbay filtration system and the parts washer.

Yes. It's not as good as poly or epoxy but is human and pet safe. Just need to be careful with washing. Damp rag kinda stuff.

Saw a friend today who works for the CIA and she was telling me about how the Stasi would bring people in for an interrogation, turn the heat up, strip them down, make them sweat, release them, sorry, it’s your cousin, not you, but then take the cloth they were sitting on and sweating into, cut it up into little pieces, put it in a jar, then use it to give the German Shepard the scent and track the target all over the place.

BiL married a NC girl. Never knew what he saw in her.

First time they have been back to Wisconsin since the wedding with their new kid.

Bitch can’t keep her mouth shut.

Almost every other word is “like”.

She doesn’t like dogs.

She doesn’t like claymation because she had a traumatic experience once. Not sure wtf that means, but she says her children will never watch anything with claymation.

She ridiculed my BiL because he hasn’t played some game on his phone in the past few days that she can’t stop playing.

SIL asked BiL and other siblings to play sheepshead and she says don’t ask me, I won’t play

That’s fine, you don’t have to.

You guys need to find a new game. I won’t play that.

That’s fine, you don’t have to.

I won’t play that.

Ok

(My in-laws are hardcore sheepshead people, they are not finding a new game just for this bitch)

Day started strong.

Ending is pretty weak.

On the plus side, FiL did some amazing shaved beef with aus jous.

Picked up my new S&W Model 19 Carry Comp .357 from the Performance Center.  Wanted a companion piece to carry with my Marlin 1894 custom carbine just in case black rifles go the way of the dodo.

Ammo from Underwood as always.  They are STOUT loads but modern M19s can handle them well unlike the original ones.  3" barrel with a compensator,  a tritium front sight and a PC action job.

The knife is a Brous Blades Silent Soldier flipper framelock with a CF scale.  Stonewashed S35VN blade on bearings.  A very neat little blade.
