Driftless Glen bourbon is the very best Wisconsin whiskey.

Also, I would consider some sort of financial reward if someone could help me source more of these slings. Soft straps, rounded hardware, pull-cord release. I was sitting on the High Voltage one in my cart and they sent me a 20% coupon - went to pull the trigger just now, and they were gone. Then I got the wild idea to check and the bundle with a bag of coffee was still there... so I'll feel like less of a poser than if I didn't try it anyways. Of course it was $.02 away from free shipping, but the coupon made up for it. My first Deneen on the way. I generally do not like branded anything (shirts, hats, etc. etc.), but the design speaks to me as a scientist & amateur amplifier assembler.

Their participation in the "blackout" movement. That's why one of their pictures is straight black.

I don't necessarily understand who they think they're catering to, but on the other hand if I boycotted every business that liked what I didnt like, I wouldn't have anything to do

I think like most things in life it's a non binary situation and bigger than one day or post. We have some real issues and problems in our country. We've had them for a long time. We never seem to solve them just put a bandaid on it.

People are angry and want to be heard. It is their right as Americans to assemble and protest. Peacefully, keeping their hands off other people and off other people's property. They should go home safe and the police should be able to go home safe.

It's not mutually exclusive to support people wanting equal protection/rights under the law and officer safety. It's even more relevant in this era of gun owners being targeted by red flag laws, gun bans and legislators looking to trample our rights. There's discord brewing between 2A advocates and certain LEO groups.

Other knife makers did the black box thing as well. Some people got angry and swore they'd never buy their products again. Others asked for explanations and some said they supported it.

In the end... Freedom is scary yo.

I know it's much more complicated than this. There's literal extremist factions working to turn things bad but I'm sticking to the general outside observer standpoint.

The mug appears to be a "Camper" but I'm not 100% sure on their styles.
Thanks, it has grown on me even more.

"I do remember one thing
It took hours and hours but
By the time I was done with it
I was so involved, I didn't know what to think
I carried it around with me for days and days
Playing little games
Like not looking at it for a whole day
And then, looking at it to see if I still liked it
I did
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat myself when under stress
I repeat
The more I look at it, the more I like it
I do think it's good
The fact is
No matter how closely I study it
No matter how I take it apart
No matter how I break it down
It remains consistent
I wish you were here to see it
I like it"

The camper is not the tall belly. I can't comment on the camper.

I will say this, even if not sold on Deneen with the camper, and this may sound silly, there is an indexing groove on the inside of the handle of the tall belly that feels good, in addition to the overall "cuddle up with a warm mug" curvature of the tall belly. The tall belly is very inviting to use. Is nice.

You'll have to share about the coffee once you get it. I see a lot of their mugs out there, never hear anything about their coffee.

Although there is that one big detractor about them...Florida...

and I agree with you full stop brother. These are crazy times and nothing is certain. Even in my little slice of rural heaven, we are starting to see protests. A steak and some good steel.

I could only find thin cut ribeyes today so a quick sear on a hot grill had to do. Some butter and dinner is served.

The Blurple Manix is a damn fine blade. With so many sprints it often gets forgotten. A lot of folks say S110V is chippy but I haven't found that to be the case. It seems to be less chippy than a lot of the other super steels to me.
You could definitely do a lot worse steel wise and really, you won't get much better without sacrificing stain resistance.

Definitely a good steel for the sweaty time of year and when in damp outdoor environments as I've been of late.

I saw that Emerson and some others went dark yesterday.
If they feel the need, so be it. It's risky as a company to get into politics these days. Staying neutral would be my play if I ran a public company.

I think it sucks that the whole situation is being leveraged by the wrong people for the wrong reasons.

Citizens in this country have every right to peaceful protest and "going black" was just that.

Looting, burning and stealing is another thing. Those folks need to be in jail same as a dirty cop or a street thug trying to pass counterfeit bills.

Yeah looking at their shapes the tall belly looks most ideal, but I have 4 very nice pot bellies already. The camper is straight sided at 14oz and it will compliment the others well. I also have one of the strange shaped hand warmer mugs made by Nehan/Clay in Motion coming this week. The glaze on it looks like 1 in 100 or better and I spent a lot of time looking. I like being able to see the actual mug - looking at the range of variation in glazing from the big quality makers gives me pause. There are a lot posted that don't measure up to the photos of the "model" mug they list it seems, where the drip glaze just didn't flow/react well or was rushed or whatever. Keeping my fingers crossed for a nice one from Bones.

Actually it would have some competition. I like a rotation and I drink coffee in the morning (larger mugs) and tea in the evenings (smaller mugs) often so I'll go through two mugs per day usually. These are just the pot belly ones and two are in the dishwasher. Bad lighting but the glazing on the left two is phenomenal and the right one is very well made. The glaze didn't flow as much as I prefer on the latter (Uncommon Clay) but I've seen that on plenty of Deneen pictures as well. Same price range. I really wish Deneen sold them without the placard like that too. I like hand made looking stuff as much as the more contemporary refined smooth look you seem to favor (mom was an excellent potter).
