Is there anything light weight for sale out there? That is also durable?

I have welded my own up, but with my cheap stick welder all I could muster up was something that weighed twice as much as the 10" gong hanging from it.
I would like something a little more portable.

I believe someone posted something rubberized a while back that you just stuck some legs in, but for the life of me cannot remember what it was called?

If you have build something lightweight and durable feel free to show it off, I would rather make something myself.

This - Standard 8ft fence post

Plus This - Fence post pounder

Cheap, durable, just drill a hole and add a spring and a Grade 8 bolt and you are good to go.

Is that one for a centered hole? You would bolt it to the post and the spring is for reverberance?

I should also add that my targets have the 2 rabbit ear type mounting holes.

I do like these ideas though, thanks guys!
I could put a hole through the middle for the fence post one if I could drill through it easily enough, I haven't tried. Not sure if I even can.

How long does the 2x4 last for rifle fire?

The target hangs from 2 pieces of fire hose.  Lasts a while as long as you hit the target.

Shepherd's hooks, man.  Shepherd's hooks.  $5 each at Home Depot.  Use two for larger targets.

Not my pic, but I have several that are bent from multiple centerfire hits and survived.

You drill the hole on one of the wings, works perfect. But it's for center hole plates. The spring helps give some movement. Bullseye metals has 2 12x20 plates with center hole for 104 shipped.

Yeah not bad as long as continuous impact doesn't knock them down.
The ones we have for yard ornaments' ancor plates are only like 6" up.

Until you send one a few inches low and behead your target. Shepherd's hooks don't take a particularly large amount of punishment or last long.

JC STEEL, hang fast, and MOA all have good options.

Like I said, I have some that are cratered and bent from impacts, 9mm up to 5.56, still standing  I had one that took THREE hits of 5.56 before another 100 hits on target fatigued the impact sites enough to break it.  It was bent to hell, but it kept the gongs off the ground.  A .308 would probably clip one in half, so don't shoot low.
