Both.
I had an SP89 a long time ago, and sold it when the price was 3x what I bought it for. I really liked it. I bought an MPX last year, and I love it. I want to buy another MP5 still, but I will keep the MPX too. |

Hey Tim, I'd probably go MP5.
I have a scorpion evo SBR and absolutely love it (I also shoot suppressed most of the time) but still want an MP5. The MPX looks tempting but the MP5 just has so many upsides. |

Scorpion, and tax stamp, and stock kit, and new can, and optic, for less than the MP5. This is what I keep coming back to. I really want a 9mm carbine and this one makes the most sense. They are sick when shot suppressed too.

I love my MPX but with that said the firing pin broke in less then 600 rounds and sig tells me it's going to be several weeks before I get a replacement.

Having shot both mpx and mp5 clone supressed, the mp5 is the better choice. I had more gas blowback on the mpx through the charging handle than the mp5.

I voted MPX, really love mine. I decided not to SBR this one and ordered SB's new collapsible brace .
Some of the new MP5 Clones or HK release are pretty attractive and SB is coming out with a side folder brace, if you want to keep it as a pistol. For the MPX, the function and controls are similar to AR platform, has ambi controls. I've put a Geissele Super Dynamic 3 Gun (SD3G) trigger, changed sights, added light. The only disadvantage on the MPX is the cost of mags, but the initial cost of MPX is about $1k less than the HK or $400 to $600 less than some of the clones, which offset the magazine costs. Try and shoot an MPX before you decide. It's my new favorite and is sitting on my lap at the moment. (Not my photos, they are from SB Tactical)

Not really a fair comparison here OP. I mean pay $1500 for the MPX or about 60% more for an MP5 clone (I've never seen one cheaper than $3500-4000), Hell parts alone to build your own if I remember right are still more than the cost of a MPX.
For $1500 the MPX is a deal, but if you have $4000 lying around and can get a quality MP5 clone, why not? |

However, I do not want the best feature of the SD, the ability to make 115 and other supers sub sonic through the barrel porting. I specifically want to set this up to use Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +P, and have the wife use if as a inside the house gun. |

I like the controls on the MPX mimicking the AR , but I love the styling of the MP5. At the end of the day if the MPX is significantly gassier (is that the word, lol) then the MP5, I'll go MP5. |
