Not sure which one to go with. Looking for something thats a good general purpose hunting/camping fixed blade knife, and I've narrowed it down to the Buck 119 and 120. Which one should I go with?

119. The 120 is a bit long, but if I was hunting turkeys and needed to carve one, the 120 would do that better.

Both too big for any hunting purpose other than shanking pigs.

For General purpose, I like my 119.  The 120 is more like a fighting knife, like a KBar.  The extra length of the 120 makes it harder to control and leverage when you have to put pressure on the belly, etc.

My son is currently trying to decide the same thing. He wants on or the other and can't decide.

I bought my 119 in 1985 and it's gone pretty much everywhere with me since. Good knife.

I agree.
Fwiw I have used a Buck 110 every year hunting since the mid 1970's and it's still great as a hunting knife as well as a general daily day.

The Woodsman and Vanguard are, IMO, their best true hunting knives.

Vanguard and Skinner.

Vanguard is definitely a better hunting knife, but I still think everyone should have a 119.

I have a 119 and it's great but I end up using my 105 more often.

I have a 112 Nylon handle because it is so light.
Standard Buck 50th anniversary. 420 HC
Cabela's Buck 50th with powdered steel blade made in America IIRC.

I always wanted a 119. When I got one though I found out it is aggravating to carry on your belt, not that great a deer knife, and not a fish or small game knife at all.  It's good looking though.

If you want a really nice knife that will be a joy in the field buy a Boker #10 Nicker. They are getting harder to find so don't wait.

If you don't mind ugly the cold steel roach belly or Russell green river hunter are super using knives.
