Oh damn.
I love the beautiful lines of the F-16, but the modernized Block 60 looks like I grew a couple of tumors and totally ruins it. Do not want. The modernized F-15 OTOH manages to look even sexier than the original. |

We desperately need something to replace the worn out airframe on the C models. Even if it's just new built airframe with all the same gadgets as what's currently on them

Kate Upton duly noted, if given the choice to ride one or the other I would seriously have to think about it.
I love the notion of applying modern avionics and targeting capabilities to Old Fashioned speed, thrust, and agility. And is that radar absorbing coating? Supposedly the conformal tanks are interchangeable with different mission payloads. |

Too bad the procurement budget is raped by the F-35.
There are dirty foreigners flying better F-15s and F-16s than we have.

That video is at least a year old. "Advanced" F-15 is nothing advanced. Boeing is having difficulties assembling F-15s for their foreign customers now, and I doubt their ability to build anything even resembling this vaporware for the USG, if we wanted it. But I'm sure that the concept will be paraded out as the best thing since their latest failed attempt at a super F-15, the "Silent Eagle".
Wish I could say more about Boeing and the current F-15 but I can't here. |
