Nice launcher, but those folks must be genetically engineered to not provide anything with a cheek weld.

The China Lake launcher was larger though, and had enough problems that it didn't remain in use long.

Internet says the LPO-97 is a newer launcher than the GM-94, adopted late 2007. Looks like it might hold more rounds.

From a brief on the GM-94: http://armamentresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/The-Russian-GM-94-Grenade-Launcher.pdf
Initially, GM-94 launchers were issued to specialised tactical units of the Russian MVD,such as SOBR (????; ??????????? ????????????? ????????????; Special Rapid ReactionUnit). These weapons are assigned to specificoperators who qualify with them, and aredeployed during missions where high intensity,short-range engagements are a possibility.Originally, LPO-97 grenade launchers wereissued to RHBZ units, which then temporarilyassign appropriately armed personnel to infantryand other units as required. However, in 2012 theRussian army issued a tender for 50 LPO-97grenade launchers and 2,500 rounds of VGM93ammunition for issue to the 45th Detached ReconnaissanceRegiment (airborne) (Zakupki.gov.ru,n.d.). The GM-94 has seen regular use inengagements targeting pro-Chechen militants, including during high-profile operations in theCaucasus city of Nalchik, in 2005. Russianmilitary forces employed the GM-94 during asuccessful operation to free two hostages held bypro-Chechen militants in Nalchik, in October 2005(BBC, 2005).

It's pretty cool, but we did that back in the 60's.

We also had the XM1060 thermobaric 40mm back in 2003.  Dunno if that's still a thing.

First thing I thought of. We also had experimental semi auto grenade launchers attached to flechette guns in the 1960s

If I recall correctly the Flachette gun had a 60 round box drum magazine, and a muzzle velocity well over 4000FPS.

Can't member how many grenades the launcher held. probably 5 or 6 3.

Feast thy eyes on dees cool ass thingys.

5:36, I'd hate to be the poor bastard clearing rooms with an RPK. Though if you have a comrade with the GM-94 apparently it's a non-issue.

Smaller, lighter, more rugged, ability to reload on the fly.

If you do the math you end up with a system half the size and only lose 16-33% of capacity depending on the rounds used. Less with the low velocity version and more with the medium velocity grenades.

I'm just honest. We can all sit back and laugh at obviously ignorant and outlandish Russian propaganda like this.

I also happen to have the ability to laugh at outlandish US propaganda, and the Russian propaganda that bashes the US and happens to be true. There are lots of people on ARF that are the US equivalent of Russian propagandist, who are loathe to admit that 87% of the modern US military is the DMV in uniform. I take a little too much pleasure in rustling their jimmies with hard realities.

Narrower, not lighter, more susceptible to debris, needs to be reloaded more often.

No, lighter, the milkor is a pig. The China Lake is half the weight and that could be improved upon. Also the Milkor breaks, a lot, and because of that it spends a lot of time in the truck instead of in the hands of the guys who might need it.

You ever actually used the thing?

The video itself says the thing weighs 5.2kg... which is the same as MGL.

China Lake was re-booted and improved by Airtronic and Trident about 10 years ago.  1st World armies weren't impressed, they bought the Milkor.

M320 or an updated M79 make more sense than either, really.  With proper gear and training very nearly as fast as a pump action, much smaller and lighter, and better ammo versatility.

Military procurement isn't based on how good the weapon is, it's based on who greases the most palms.

I know everything Russian belongs in a trashcan, but what would happen in the case of a delayed ignition in the above platform vs the GM-94?
The pump configuration seem better for the same reasons we don't see rotary shotguns as often.
