Is anyone in here headed to APG for the demo this weekend? My parents took me there for the public demo probably around '82 when I was 7. Looking forward to checking it out again.

I go there on business periodically, along with Edgewood.  And that's what it takes to get me to drive into that bed-wetting shithole of a state - getting paid to do it.  Otherwise, I stay on the free (and safe) side of the river.

I grew up in Aberdeen. Graduated from Aberdeen high school. Mom worked at Edgewood Arsenal for many years. Still have many good friends there.

Got out of Md. in '04 and yeah, they would have to pay me to go back too.

I was stationed  there waaaaay back in the day. Back then, the Ordnance Museum was mind-blowing.....tons of outdoor armor/artillery displays.

You could rent a tiny boat for $5 and head out to the little islands off Plum Point with some friends and a cooler of beer and just hang out.

I would love to go back and visit someday.

APG let all their tanks rust and gave our only Tiger 1 to Britain.

As a ww2 history buff, do you wanna know how I feel about them?

I was there either in the late 1990's or the early 2000's for the museum and remember thinking that the tanks didn't look like they were all that well maintained.  The indoor museum was amazing.   Was sad to hear of it's demise.

I'd head down this weekend if it wasn't a good 3-4 hours from me.

I'll be there for the early show. I live about 10 minutes from there and it's fun when my windows rattle every now and then. I like the A10 flyovers too.

I'm going.  Can't wait to see a M1A2 live fire.

I know prior to moving the ordnance school to Ft. Lee many of the old tanks where being restored.

Does anyone know if they moved the tanks and museum to Ft. Lee?
