I'm awful with making decisions when it comes to what to buy/build.

Anyone have a 13.7 with some insight?

Why a 13.7?  If you are going to go short, might as well go the 10.5 or 7 route.  Otherwise, save the stamp money and go 16".

Most people pin+weld a pig to make a 13.7" get to 16.0".

As the owner of a 14.5" SBR, I think a 13.7" SBR would be fucking awesome.

I've been looking at the BE Meyers flash hider. Apparently it's the best flash suppressing muzzle device there is. Or at least top 5ish.

Because 13.7 will fit perfectly with the 13" Centurion CMR rail I just bought.

No pics at the moment and my 13.7 is on loan, but absolutely do it.

MY current 13.7 is pinned with a BE Meyer's and I'm going to send another DD barrel off tgo be chopped and pinned via the 13.7/bem combo.

The rifles are super handy, flash suppression is excellent, and you don't need to worry about crossing state lines with it. And like you said, they look sweet with a 13in rail.

I have the BE 249SAKER  pinned to my 13.8in (16.1in total, no tax stamp, planning on a Saker 556k), and so far I'm loving it. Here's some pictures, and feel free to ask me if you got any questions.

I'd like to see pictures if/when you get the chance!

What rail system do you have paired with that?

Can someone tell me where the 13.7"barrel length comes from?

The exact length to pin/weld a Noveske or B.E. Meyers muzzle device and reach the legal 16" minimum.

ETA: I think Noveske was the first to do it, but either way, companies started making them to get as short as possible without SBRing

I believe 13.7 is the barrel length you would get if you made an Israeli menusar rifle

by cutting a 20 inch A1 barrel exactly at the gas port, redrilled a new gas port and moved

the front sight base back into carbine position.

Edit.  Nope, just double checked.  Doing that would result in cutting at 12 inches, and with

flash hider, might give you a 13 inch overall barrel.

And how do you feel about that trade off? A Larue stealth might as well be gold according to most on GD.

I never gave the larue barrel a chance to like it. I got it, built an upper, function tested it but never really sighted it in or got a nice scope to see what type of accuracy I could get. It seemed very well made, but it did have a heavy profile. Most of my shooting is 2 gun style so I wanted a lighter profile barrel.

I picked up the G rail on sale, it was too long to use with my silencers so I sold the larue rail, picked up the BA barrel and a vortex 1-6, still not sighted in yet.

13.7 is too big. You are in Florida. Go smaller.

I've been trying to decide between a 13.7 and 14.5. I'll probably end up with a 14.5 though. This 13.7 has been tempting me though.

So it's like a 14.5/14.7 for all those ultra long muzzle devices?

Actually sounds pretty cool

I'm with you. My brain says 14.5

The erection that rifle gives me says 13.7.

13.7" and griffin minimialist brake is still bone jarringly loud and shoots a pretty big fireball shooting brown bear. Sounds great with the sportsmen though.
