If you have been considering it and got turned off by offers only $900 or so below MSRP its a good time to send out emails for new quotes.
I'm looking at a 4WD with a sticker of $38,800 and getting quotes of $35,109-$35,550 |

My '16 was msrp'd at 47ishK, got it out the door for 42k a year ago. There are deals to be had, if thats what you want to call them.

I wish they still made one with the V8.
I like my 2005 4runner. It is very capable and is great for camping, hunting, and negotiating logging roads to get to the best fishing holes. |

Wait until fall rolls around, auto market will be a complete disaster. Lease returns, subprime loans, inventories stuffed. Some good deals if you have cash and can play hardball.
My 08 V8 just hit 100k, the 4R will be an automated unibody by the time I'm ready to trade it in. |

Mine is a 2016 SR5 with the 3rd row. It also has the Premium level audio in it. It was $34,500 marked down from almost $39K back in May. https://dl.dropbox.com/s/mwikj5y75l7sufl/2017-06-05%2012.09.27-1.jpg View Quote |

I guess I need to go be poor somewhere else. 35K is still a bunch to drop for a depreciating asset/tool. I like used cars where I don't take the big hit on depreciation. YMMV

My trail premium was 36,400 plus TTL in March. Should have bought 2.

"Invoice" is a known reference point, like Msrp, which not reflect actual dealer cost. Duh

View Quote That's cool. You should come join Team America and we can be not poor together. My wife's got the SR5 prem in red. Would have got the TRD pro, but it's not available with 3rd row. |

My wife's '17 4Runner is one cool vehicle. Very nice off road, too. That's all I have to add.

Generally Speaking:
With Ford Trucks and SUV's they will immediately knock 5,000 off sticker. With Chevy Trucks and SUVs you can depend on them knocking about $7,500 off sticker. With Toyota Trucks and SUVs you can expect them to knock about $900 off sticker most of the time and $2,300 to $3,000 during sales. in Ohio or Michigan a Toyota will have a bigger discount than someplace like California, where every 16-year old kid with rich parents gets one for the beach so he doesn't tear up his BMW. Add to that nobody is sure what the 2018 4Runner will be. Will it have the craptastic transmission of the Tacoma? or worse, will it have the Tacoma engine and Transmission, both, for fuel economy standards? Will it be a Crossover CUV that is the 4Runner in name alone like the new Pathfinder? |
